2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm excited for the DL--specifically Myles.

I'm excited to keep my fingers crossed about Denzel's health. I'm excited to see how Greedy looks out there.

I'm worried about our safeties. I think Burnett is going to suck, but I'm excited about the young guys (Whitehead, Redwine, Murray).

I'm interested to see how the veteran LB's Kirksey/Schobert look when compared to the young guys of Wilson/Takitaki.

Most of all, I'm thrilled that we no longer have Gregg Williams as our DC--but I'm concerned that Wilks isn't going to properly use the talent he's been given either.
I basically agree with 100% of this. I'd add that I am excited to see Terrence Mitchell and Carrie at their appropriate secondary positions.

Regarding Wilks, I really think it is a "wait and see" type of call. He sounds great during the interviews and he does not want to put Ward and Greedy on an island. It really sounds like he wants to play a press man cover 2 with some cover 3 mixed in. I actually think any system where you let Ward and Greedy stay with their guys will work.

The biggest concern I have, on either side, is our offensive line. The linebackers should be better this year, and while our safeties will be below league average, I think our excellent corners can cover that up a bit... but man, the offensive line looks rough.

I agree completely. I'm wait-and-see with Wilks hence me simply saying I'm concerned.

I think we talked about areas of concern last week. Right guard is my #1 concern, and Bitonio is really the only player I'm comfortable with and confident in on the entire line.

Gary Barnidge was never one of the league's better pass catching tight ends.

He was an average tight end who was in a position to get used a lot.

Good job by Tom to get a sensationalist headline while still toeing that line by saying he "Ranked" among the league's top pass catching tight ends--not that he was one.

Who the hell is the strength coach letting these dudes do squats like this? Maybe it’s my powerlifting background, but I’m not very impressed.

Eh, it's a max he's putting up for instagram. I'm not going to assume that all the normal reps he does are the same. There's building muscle, and then there's gloating. This was the latter.
