That made me look up Vernon’s ‘18 reel. Can’t wait to see those two at it together; could cause some serious issues for teams with Ward, Williams and Carrie/Mitchell behind them.

When he is on a hiatus, do you think he doesn't work out at all? I mean its less than a month before training camp, is he doing light work outs to keep his body in shape or zero until now to give his body a break. Just curious, I trust he knows his body more than any of us, lol

BTW, I like that drill for route running, it partly shows why he is such a good route runner.

I'm so excited for the defense this year... and I never am excited for the defense.

Any dedicated athlete is 100% still working out at this point. "Rest" is not shutting it down--it's just making sure you give your body time to recover between workouts.

I'm excited for the DL--specifically Myles.

I'm excited to keep my fingers crossed about Denzel's health. I'm excited to see how Greedy looks out there.

I'm worried about our safeties. I think Burnett is going to suck, but I'm excited about the young guys (Whitehead, Redwine, Murray).

I'm interested to see how the veteran LB's Kirksey/Schobert look when compared to the young guys of Wilson/Takitaki.

Most of all, I'm thrilled that we no longer have Gregg Williams as our DC--but I'm concerned that Wilks isn't going to properly use the talent he's been given either.

Re: OBJ...

Watching that was mind-blowing.

My question is what other guys would look like doing the same thing?

I assume he wouldnt be posting it if it was nothing?

Most of these guys are always doing some type of workouts to be honest. Now in the off season, are they lifting heavy reps or running a marathon type of work out, no, but are they doing yoga, running, weights etc mostly everyday? Those who stay in the NFL are, so yes. They just are keeping their bodies loose and moving, but aren't doing anything too harsh on their bodies.

The hiatus was a social media break, not a work out hiatus. OBJ is a very mercurial person, and needs to be in the right mind frame. He’s also one of the hardest workers I’ve ever heard of as an athlete, so I can all but guarantee he’s been doing *something* to improve his game every day—just not posting about it.

Most fans here get it, but your average fan looks at that and doesn't realize the footwork that goes into being able to hit your marks. I just watch film on him and I am amazed how he runs a route that keeps the corner and over safety both off balance and just at the right moment he breaks.

People think I am crazy when I say hands are not as important as route running for a receiver, but its true. Some of the best receivers ever dropped a decent amount of balls, but the best are all good to great route runners. Jerry Rice made a career out of being an average athlete for the position but the best route runner of all time...and yes, he had some really good hands too.

Thanks, best explanation. I found the word hiatus there odd knowing how close season is and all the rumors about OBJ and his work outs. Sure after season you need a month long break from everything with what a NFL player's body goes through, but not 3 weeks before camp.
