2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In that Building the Browns video, watch the clip of the receivers doing the drill where they run into that little gate and come back out.

Every other player has to chop/shuffle to slow down and accelerate again. OBJ does it in basically one step.

That sort of stop-foot, go-foot move is special. Only a few RB's and WR's in the league can do that.

i think Strong is an eventual camp cut pending the health status of the group. Ratley too if he can’t get on the field.

Completely forgot we had Strong.

Maybe I am remembering incorrectly, but I am pretty sure he beasted at ASU and then just shit the bed in the pros. How has he been looking in these videos? Haven't seen one yet. Plan to watch them all this Sunday.

He's been decent when healthy, but he's battled leg injuries his entire career. Highly doubt he makes the 53. He's behind OBJ, Landry, Callaway, and Higgins for sure. Probably Ratley, and Willies too. In a group w/Sheehy, Hyman, and Jackson trying to grab that 5 or 6 spot.

Kyle Kalis doesn’t know the protection.

Corbett still can’t beat him out decisively

Disclaimer: sort of mostly joking

Kush might sneak in there and win the job too.

What would you guys say is the Browns absolute biggest weakness heading into July?

What MGMT said pretty much nailed it and is most likely what everyone was already thinking.

To try and go another route, I will say limiting penalties as a whole. I don't know how many drives last year were either killed because of a hold on the line on a 3rd & short, or on defense a stupid ass offsides/PI call. Sucks when the first thing I normally was yelling out when the other team had a 3rd&5 was, "Don't jump!" and not, "Get 'em!"

I don't know where we ranked in the league, but it sure as hell seemed like we got a lot called against us.

I’m still uneasy about the offensive line, esp LT and Guard.
Same here. I cant help but feel like we are assuming the guys we are throwing out there will replicate last years success. At the end of the of day, most of them were fringe players for a reason.

two reasons why I am not too concerned....1. Freddie Kitchen/ Monkens offensive scheme 2. Our Offensive line coach is a top o line coach who has molded plenty of players to be above average players

The offensive line, specifically RG. You can scheme away a reliance on all-pro tackles by getting the ball out quickly, moving the pocket, things that Freddie did last year as OC.

You cannot solve pressure up the middle by a change in scheme.

This isn't even mentioning how much of our offensive success was built around a successful running game--and that running game was only successful because of our strength up the middle.

After OL, the only positions of concern for me are on the defensive side. DL depth and safety quality are the next two, but the offensive line is number one with a bullet in terms of things that can sink this season.

It has been pretty quiet on the Trent Williams front as of late - maybe Dorsey can pull another rabbit.

Pipe dream. You're asking the Redskins to move arguably the best LT in football, plus you're asking them to move him here, plus you're asking them to do it for pennies on the dollar, and then you're asking that guy to not ask for a new contract.

I'd love it--it's just not happening.

I thought the rumor was he was unhappy with the medical team and FO and not his contract situation?

Next season is the last season on his contract. You think he's comfortable not negotiating a new contract that will financially secure himself and his family?

I'll believe it when it happens.
