Your 2019 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Where Ramirez plays probably depends on if there are any FA available at a good price. I'm anti-stop gap guy, but if you could bring in a guy lie Wilmer Flores, he's probably a better fit at 2B than 3B.

I'm honestly not sure where they favor Chang. 3B is the more important position, so whichever they feel defends it better is probably how it ends up.

Chang has played a lot more at 3B than 2B from his numbers, though neither spot seems to have a ton of innings either way. Arroyo I feel like could go either way from his basic stats at both 2B and 3B but in 400+ innings in the minors, he has only made 2 errors at 2B. Mathias is way better at 2B and Clement would be the same way. Flores would be 2B, Gyorko is better at 3rd. Tyler Freeman down the line likely is 2B as well, so maybe just keep Ramirez at 3rd? I know Jones is in front of Freeman when it comes to when major league ready in a sense, but Jones to me is a bad 3rd base still. What I guess I am getting at is the fact I don't want to move Ramirez again, if our prospects are better at 2B then we just need to leave Ramirez at 3rd in a sense.

Looks like Kipnis will be out for the Detroit series, if not longer, it feels like from getting the MRI done yesterday. No word on his return, but he has been having issues with it for a minute, so they are going to give him some rest if not a short DL stint. Freeman at 2B and Chang at 3B probably for the series with Flaherty mixed in as well. If its a bad review then we may see Velazquez up with the big league club here sooner rather than later.

I think it'd be a big mistake if they're not going to give Chang a chance at an every day role next year. Like I said before, you have to give the young guys a chance at some point. Chang has spent multiple years in AAA, so it's now or never. Bringing in a cheap stop gap in this situation reeks of CarGo and Hanley in the early season.

The Indians won’t hand Chang the job. I mean, theres absolutely no way they could do that. He was just okay at AAA last year and he was hurt most of this season. There’s really just no way of knowing what kind of player he is right now.

The Indians traded a pretty good prospect to get Arroyo for a reason. There’s gonna be competition for the job. Whether it’s Arroyo, Chang or a stopgap remains to be seen. There won’t be a shortage of options though.

All I said was give him a chance at an every day job. Nowhere did I say it should be given to him.

Hammy a couple days ago said that Ramirez was fielding and playing catch but hasn’t taken any BP yet. I think he’d be back for the ALDS at the absolute soonest.

(sorry for double posting, can’t edit)

How do major league guys do rehab assignments late in the season when minor league ball is in the deep playoffs or already wrapped up? Like, say we make the ALDS and are trying to get Jose back. How will we get him back to game speed?

They're injured.

I mean, don't these shmucks want to come out with it?

Say something like....."I'm ready to be back with my teammates to kick some ass in the playoffs in 2 weeks?"

I'd rather hear something than nothing.

Where is Paul Hoynes?

I don't think any of these guys want to put exact timelines on their return. Can only lead to disappointment.
