If Callaway joins Madden in LA, it will be interesting to watch & see if the Angels look to target/ acquire any arms from Cleveland & NY Mets...
Was he responsible for the Yandy Diaz-Jake Bauers trade?Worked alongside Chaim when he was in Minor League Ops with the Rays.
Absolutely brilliant dude who is a key to the Rays success and has been for a while. Absolute superstar and one of the brightest people I met in seven years bouncing around baseball.
This reminds me of when Friedman went to LA and you just knew they’d wind up turned around with regards to how they run a minor league system and develop talent.
That’s a pretty poorly researched article.
They treat Kluber as a negative asset, but if we didn’t want to pay him next year, we could have just declined his option.
Anyone else a little miffed that Shane Bieber wasn't a finalist for the AL Cy Young? I thought he certainly had a case to be in the top three, although not to win it over Cole or Verlander.
Unfortunately, Morton had superior stats. Better K/9, better ERA, much better HR/9.
Bieber had more ~18 more innings and a better BB/9.
Agreed that Cole & Verlander well in front of the rest.Anyone else a little miffed that Shane Bieber wasn't a finalist for the AL Cy Young? I thought he certainly had a case to be in the top three, although not to win it over Cole or Verlander.
On a different note, from what I can see and tell from rumors it looks like Minnesota is going to spend some money this offseason coming up. Most of their top 30 prospects are projected to be coming up in 20 and 21 season since majority finished at AAA or AA this last season, but I didn’t see a ton of starting pitching, so they won’t go get Cole, but any of the tier 2 starting pitching will be fair game and so will be a top end reliever/closer on the market. They are going to add 40 mil+ to the pay roll in pitching in shorter term deals to try and win now. Minnesota won’t be as lucky next season, but the Indians FO needs to make sure they find that bullpen arm in my mind that they need to help out Hand.
$40m is a lot to spend, but they also have holes at 3-4 spots in their rotation. Odorizzi taking the QO would instantly slash their budget in half.
I assume they bring back Odorizzi and make a splash with Wheeler or Keuchel
I’m expecting Odorizzi to resign, and getting one of the top free agent starters and one of the top relievers on the market. My guess is they won’t be making trades to fill in the holes but signing guys in free agency to
Why would Odorizzi throw away all that money? He's not that old is he??
