2020 Off-Season Rumors/News

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Puig was the Collin Sexton of the Indians.

Really not even close. Puig is a clown but very well liked by all the players. He sometimes makes the manager upset as he is prone to silly mistakes, but he is a hell of a talent for what he most likely will get. I am onboard to bring him back for sure.

Not the best analogy, true. But I could never accept Puig's brainless and selfish moments even when balanced against the times that his talent achieved great feats. He's nothing more than a callow hot dog to me, but if Tito wants him back, I hope they sign him.

Interesting trade. Liberatore is seen as an elite pitching prospect but is still a few years away. Rays get 2 bats to contribute immediately

Total thug.

I'd re-sign him, though.

LOL

The guy has ONE good season at age 28 and it's the Indians fault they cut ties with him? That guy couldn't have been more lost at the plate with both the Tribe and Blue Jays. Credit to the Yanks for finding something that worked for him but let's not try to re-write history and pretend like he showed any potential at the plate prior to this year.

You're correct, but I didn't feel as though his glove ever hurt us either. Some folks just flourish with a change of scenery.

Brantley also comes to mind, but suppose it's just a byproduct of our market situation and financial restaints.

We're in a nice place heading forward and that's what's important.

Would love having Puig back next year.

Hernandez
Mercado
Lindor
Santana
Puig
Jose
Franmil
Bauers/Luplow/DJ/ Would love for Zimmer to rebound and take charge of an OF spot
Perez

Well yeah, that's not the argument. He was supposed to be good with his glove.

His improving has nothing to do with a change of scenery and has everything to do with him adapting to stay in the league at all.

Not saying they won't do it, but batting Hernandez and Mercado 1-2 would make me lose faith in Tito's abilities to construct a lineup moving forward.

Will be interesting to see how Tito constructs his lineup using 4 switch hitters. If Hernandez's walk rate bounces back, you'd think the switch hitters should be the first 4 in the lineup. But I know Tito seems to like to alternate handedness, which may be ever more relevant with the 3 batter minimum

Mookie Betts get $27m in arbitration

Lindor is probably going to be in the $18-20m this range, which I believe will be the most they have ever paid for a player in a given season. I have a hard time seeing the Indians pay Lindor in the $27m range in 2021 and then let him walk for nothing
