2020 Off-Season Rumors/News

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Mookie Betts get $27m in arbitration

Lindor is probably going to be in the $18-20m this range, which I believe will be the most they have ever paid for a player in a given season. I have a hard time seeing the Indians pay Lindor in the $27m range in 2021 and then let him walk for nothing
Lindor will beat 27m. All his agent will have to say is his client didn't have the benefit of knowing the pitch to put up equal value to Betts.

If Puig is re-signed, this is how I would like to see the lineup configured:

Vs. RHP
Santana
Lindor
Ramirez
Reyes
Puig
Hernandez
Bauers
Perez
Mercado

Vs. LHP
Santana
Lindor
Ramirez
Reyes
Luplow
Puig
Hernandez
Perez
Mercado

Bauer and the Reds settled for $17.5m. Wonder if Bauer thought he'd lose his hearing this year after a shaky season

SS - Lindor (S)SS - Lindor (S)

Really not that different between LHP/RHP

With a deeper bench and more opportunity to move around your Top 6 as they need to, perhaps they can develop a better sense of consistency throughout the year.

I don't know where else to put this, but it's been on my mind and I don't want to create another thread, but does anyone else think Dolan is either selling or moving the team when their lease is up with the 2023 season?

I think they are just trying to make the team most attractive to a new buyer by giving as much flexibility as possible. Now the new owner? Who knows what they do. Probably won't feel married to the Jake like the Dolan's are.

Wonder if he's now thinking of a long term deal.
Nope. He was literally just talking to Richard Sherman on Twitter the other day about the value of players betting on themselves.
