Anyways I still think there are some fascinating battles, mostly on offense

- Miller and Stroud is probably the most important battle, even though it's for the backup QB. Both will have to compete with Kyle McCord in 2021 for the starting job (assuming Fields leaves early). Miller has been a Buckeye fan for life despite being from Arizona. Stroud was a late riser up the ranks. Wouldn't surprise me to see one of them in transfer portal next year.

- Teague is obviously next in line for carries. However, Demario McAll I think is much better suited for the outside zone OSU loved to run last year. Mcall came as a slot WR in Urban's offense, but never found a home there. It wouldn't surprise me to see Teague and Mcall have some sort of split.

- WR after Olave and Wilson is fascinating. Jameson Williams Jalen Gill are already on campus, plus there are 4 highly touted froshs incoming. Anyone combo of six guys could play.

- It's a big year Petit-Frere. He got beaten out by Munford and Bowen already, neither of whom have near his pedigree. If he isn't the starter after spring,it might never happen here.

- DL will be deep, and about 4 or 5 guys could start at DE.

-Hard to talk about the back 7 because we don't know what the defense will look like.We thought they were gonna go 4-2-5 with the strong safety playing a bit like a LB/S hybrid. Instead, Werner played mostly LB. Will they keep that with the new DC? Or you go 2 LBs and 5 pure DBs? Proctor will start at safety, Wade will start at CB, Browning and Broland will play at LB, and Werner will play somewhere. What the actual defense looks like has be answered first.

Some omissions that I'm not sure were in error or on purpose... Jameson Williams (WR), Taron Vincent (DT), Tyreke Johnson (CB)

All three were oversights on my part. Williams will definitely get into the mix as a deep ball threat in 2020.

Vincent is getting healthier, and Johnson will certainly factor into that S competition.

Marcus Williamson also will factor into that slot corner competition.

Awesome news.

Day has been absolutely killing it with his hires so far.

I've seen a lot of people sleeping on Jameson. He’s raw but man... is he talented. Taron Vincent missing all season has him under the radar but IMO he has the most upside of any of our DTs. Tyreke, super highly recruited, has been a bit of a bust so far. Hopefully it clicks going into next year. The back end could use a guy with top end talent to emerge.

I thought Tyreke Smith was pretty solid this season; he got engulfed on some run plays but I liked what he showed as a true soph

Frothing at the mouth to see Wilson and Olave next year. Best WR combo since...?

Huge we got Coombs back. It wasn’t a coincidence that our secondary play fell off a cliff when he left for the pros. We stabilized it this year but it was ugly for a second.

Recruits his ass off. Fiery as hell and he makes pros. His track record speaks for itself. This is BIG for our green guys and likely the main reason Wade didn’t go to the NFL.
