Been watching "Occupied" on Netflix. It's a Norwegian show about a "velvet glove" Russian takeover of Norway to gain control of Norway's oil and gas, which the newly-elected Green Party PM had shut off because of climate concerns.
Really enjoying it. There are a few implausibilities along the way, but it's well-acted and very well-plotted with a ton of great twists. There's a really cool usage of a video game -- I think it is Day Z -- that is integral to the plot.

I’m now on season 7 of Veep. This show is so god damn funny. The insults are hilarious. And I can’t look at politics the same after watching.
Got around to watching the first episode of Picard.
I like it, but can't help but feel this is going to be a 1 season show. Which is fine, but I'm dying to sink my teeth into another real quality Star Trek series.
Can't believe they'd make a Star Trek with a political message. Ridiculous.
Star Trek has always been political. All the way back to the casting of the original series.
I can not get over how GREAT Picard has been. The first 2 episodes have been knocked out of the park in my opinion. I can only imagine how much better it will get once Jean-Luc gets a crew and heads off world. My lord, this show is just so good.
More DS9 feel but also a bit more succinct. Its visually very impressiveHow does it compare to TNG?
More of a DS9 feel?

Yeah, like said above, visually, it’s movie quality. Definitely has a DS9 feel thus far. There is a dark overtone in regards to the federation and covert groups within factions and the treatment of certain beings including a main cast member from TNG. Patrick Steward maintains that “do the right thing no matter what” vibe that is how we know Jean-luc Picard to be. The secondary character also seem like they may be multi faceted. How does it compare to TNG?
