Koby Altman

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Genuine question, when is the last time one of your posts was something positive about anyone on the Cavs?
last time there was something positive to talk about I assume

That's a really good point. Koby was held scoreless in all 4 of those games too. Not a single basket. What an embarrassment!
He practically built this pile of crap we call a roster so ya, embarrassment.

- he resigned Love in an attempt to still be a playoff team, failed miserably.
- he traded for Clarkson, Hood and Nance who all failed while lebron was around, he also wanted them to be part of the future but that failed too.
- he traded a first for clarkson (and Nance) who was on a bad contract then less than 2 years later with Clarkson on an expiring he got less than what he gave to get. Fail.

So i would rate his drafting a C, his trading a D and team/roster construction an F so far

His only positive so far has been the trade to get Hill imo ( a quick look at your posting you labeled him as past it so maybe you disagree), expect Porter to pan out too but far from being a certainty at this stage

Good summary of why there is no evidence that Koby is a good or competent GM, you just left off the Kyrie trade.

Still revisionist history. We were a coin flip away from a 21 year old MVP candidate. Many agreed that it was a great trade at the time. We got one of the most covetted assets in the entire league.

Hindsight is always 20/20. We can pick apart each deal from both sides - good and bad. Has he worked miracles, no. On the other hand, I don't think he's made any moves that have been horrible. My take: he's been average. Facts are, you can't always build a market for your "assets" and it's going to be a long rebuild for the Cavs.

I'll also add, and I think this gets overlooked, that his first year was quite challenging. He had to balance the tension of competing now with LeBron, yet building for the future as LeBron had one foot out the door. When you can't commit one way or the other (compete or rebuild), you don't move anywhere.

As @IWantAKouki stated, if we beat BKN as we should have, we land 3rd in the draft, pick Luka, and no one is complaining about Koby or the Kyrie trade right now.....

I'm going to exercise my patience and see what happens today and this summer.

Personally I'm numb from all the losing. Mind you I didn't expect much, but losing what 12 of 13 now? What could possibly happen today that'll fix that? I'm hopeful though.

Do people actually believe this? No matter the record the league wasn't gonna give us a top 3 pick that year. And maybe I'm a conspiracy theorist but no one will convince the lotto hasn't been rigged since its creation.

You'd have more fun if you were naive.

It is true that the Nets pick was the only excuse for that trade. But the odds were still against us getting a top pick (especially if anyone had bothered to look at how strong the Nets finished the 2017 season -- I think that's a reason the Celtics were willing to let it go). That year was too important to just roll the dice and sacrifice the quality of the roster, it was our last shot at keeping Lebron and our last shot at a championship.

Also, I am entertained that everyone assumes that Koby would have been smart enough to pick Luka. I do not at all assume that.

LeBron was leaving regardless of what happened that season. If you believe otherwise you don't know LeBron. He came back to win us a Championship he did. No matter what moves we made or didn't make he was bolting. It was hard for him to get stars to come to Cleveland and he forced Kyrie out. There was also no move to be made to put us over the Warriors. It is what it is. Crying about 2 years ago is pointless now.

Rumors leading up the draft were Cavaliers wanted to trade up for Luka.

FWIW, Dan Gilbert said on a podcast with Mark Cuban that Luka was by far number 1 on our board.

...anyways, Drummond?
