I know it was broadcast around the Cavs Nation that Beilien was absolutely Altman's call, pick, idea, etc.. but was it? Everything points to Gilbert.
* wins the initial presser (so f'ing important to that guy)
* Michigan
* successful Michigan college coach
* after stating the org was looking for a young coach, player development guy with G-League experience... {screeeeech} Beilien..
Going off Jason Lloyds comments in his article on the Athletic, Altman not taking questions after the coach stepped down looks like a lack of leadership.. I wonder if it's Gilbert allowing cover for his stupid decision in the first place though. You know Altman can't go out there and say, "well, the owner demanded I hire the guy I didn't want, so..."
I remember that first presser with Gilbert when he bought the team.. "Spurs east, culture, culture, culture" The team is a dumpster fire and it starts with the owner. I now fully understand what it's like to be a Suns or Kings fan.
