Cleveland Browns 2020 Regular Season: What a Ride!

Personally, I think we need to see more than one week against the second best team in the NFL that was coming back with the same coaching staff and largely the same personnel before we sound the alarms. If we get curb stomped by Cincy, then it's time to start worrying.

Aside from being disappointed about "Same Old Browns" - let's see how they look after 4 weeks. I will withhold judgment until then, but not my sadness.

My thoughts, which mean shit, it's been 1 game. The drop was awful. He looked disinterested. BUT IT'S BEEN 1 GAME!!

Is he ever going to return to his 100 reception/1300 yard seasons? No, he will not. But can he replicate a 70-80 catch season w/1000 yards for us again? Yes, he sure can. Does that mean we won the trade? No. But it's pretty damn nice to have 2 capable 1000 yard receivers on the team.

We also played Baltimore who is an easy SB contender with very little/no offseason/real practicing with a new coaching system.

As I was going to post in the other thread showing how the Browns are leading the tank-a-thon for Lawrence...give it more than 1 game. If say, in 5-8 games OBJ is still being a dick, Baker looks like Seibert, then let's panic. But you are telling me you will get SUCH more value for OBJ right now than in week 6-7? No way.

*deep breaths* *calm* *patience*

Bengals fan here, but always enjoy reading up on the Browns.

Thursday should be an interesting game. I watched all of the Browns game and all of the Bengals game... The Bengals defense is pretty solid... the off-season acquisitions added with guys like Atkins/Hubbard/Dunlap make a pretty stout line. Bates was terrific in the secondary.

What I'm getting to is.... Baker isn't going to get a cake walk Thursday. He's going to have to show up because he will be feeling plenty of pressure. Good news for him is I do believe that the Bengals are very attackable (is that a word?... lets make it one) in the secondary. Still plenty of questions marks at the corner positions.

It's been difficult to watch Baker's slide over the last year. I can't pinpoint it. I watched him live his rookie season and came away very impressed. Now I'm just trying to figure out how much longer this dude is even going to be in the NFL... Pretty crazy.

I just want to post this because I went back and looked at the targets for Odell over the course of the football game....

These were pretty much quality targets from Baker. Two of which lead to a penalty for PI and Holding, one hit Beckham straight in the hands, and the last was a really good throw low so that only Beckham could catch it that it looks like Humphrey just made a pretty good play on.

That means 7 out of 10 of Beckham’s targets were quality targets. So to @Los216’s point about “Baker can’t get him the ball when he’s open blah blah” it’s just not true.

Then there is one where Baker missed behind Beckham and the deep throw that went over Beckham’s head for a TD.

Looks to be a better defense for Cincinnati but I wouldn't put much stock into how they looked vs. Tyrod Taylor (career backup).

I don't think anyone expects for Baker to get a cakewalk. As it stands, Thursday is just kinda up in the air IMO, as I'm not sure what to expect. If the Bengals smoke the Browns then there will be some SERIOUS worry from the fans. That's not to criticize the Bengals at all and I hope you're not taking it that way - it's just because it's tougher to evaluate the whole team after just one week and a challenging offseason against arguably the 2nd best team in the NFL.

Oh I totally agree.. I want no part of the Ravens, they could easily beat us just as bad (if not worse) than they did you guys.

Thursday should be a good old fashioned Ohio battle though!

Any doubt Seibert wins the game on a last second field goal?
absolutely it happens, because just like Zane Gonzalez, Seibert isnt a bad kicker and there is a reason both of those guys were drafted.

Obviously both guys ended up with the yips once they got to cleveland, but lets be honest they arent the only guys that havent performed up to expectations when they got here

This loss will be crushing. We can't lose this game bruhs.
