Is sitting him down and letting Case Keenum play moving on from him or trying to win games?
This is the worst possible thing the Browns could do.

He needs to start every game this season that he's on our roster for.

When they get to the point of moving on, they need to trade him...not bench him and destroy whatever little trade value he has left.

The debate is not between Baker and Odell. The Browns aren't bad because of Odell Beckham Jr. They're bad because their QB is not very good and hasn't been for a while now.

Can we stop pretending that Baker only looks bad targeting Odell? He basically ended Njoku's season last year on a bad pass. He sails balls to the sidelines. He throws Landry into coverage to the point where Landry will get drilled if he catches some of those balls. He lacks touch on too many throws. He has happy feet in the pocket. He locks onto receivers. He always bails to his right.

I'm not Bakers biggest fan right now, but I think there is certainly a debate happening in Berea about why Baker and Odell havnt been on the same page since they have been together. In there 17 games together Baker has a completion percentage of 54% when targeting Odell and 61% when targeting anyone else. For reference, Baker had a 64% completion percentage as a rookie and Odell has consistently been 60%-62% catch % with the Giants outside of his monster rookie season. Theres a lot more that goes into football analysis than completion percentage (and im far from an expert when it comes to breaking down game tape) but there is clearly a bigger disconnect between Baker and Odell than there is between Baker and the rest of the team. I feel like that is clear when im watching the game. How much of this has to do with Odells injury that he played through last year? Its hard to say but plays like the 3rd down drop yesterday leave you scratching your head. For whatever reason, Baker clearly has better chemistry with Jarvis.

Yeah... He has 15 more games to prove himself...

At that time the FO will have enough data to decide if they want to move forward with him or look at options through the draft and FA for the next guy.

Not after one game in a new system...

We don't need to wait that long

And just to add to the hype the 100th birthday for the NFL will be Thursday. So a match up between the only two franchises in Ohio which is the birthplace of football. Two #1 overall picks. One of them an Ohio kid and another one who disgraced The Ohio State University but now plays for the states most storied franchise. So many story lines for this one. Definitely a must win game for The Browns and especially Baker. The only game on TV that night. You can't ask for more early season pressure and buildup than this.

I wouldn't say he has 15 more games. If he continues to play like shit, his trade value decreases with each game. I don't know what the magic number is, but at some point you need to cash out on an asset before it loses all value.

That video describes exactly why Baker and OBJ aren't clicking. Baker can't ball and OBJ knows that.
OBJ also can't catch a damn ball, I don't give a shit what he thinks about Baker or anyone else.

So you aren't going to use my whole quote? I have to ask...

Of course Clevelanders have every right to hate NAFTA... They have every right to hate losing the NFL opener... but none of that is better than forming a plan to rebuild and following through with that plan, even when it gets bumpy.

After 45 years of being a Browns Fan and seeing one more opening day disaster I'm not good for anything today except making cheap jokes about how the Browns suck. In fact I spent most of the past two hours on a conference call and someone mentioned how something "blows and sucks". Another party to the call expressed doubt that this was possible, so I chimed in and said I was a Cleveland Browns fan and it was very possible. It was all NYC financial types on the call and I definitely got the "you poor dumb bastard" sense from them. Although they are mostly Giants & Jets fans so it is not so great for them either.

Ohio manufacturing was screwed, NAFTA or no NAFTA. I saw it from the inside for 25 years.

I'm all in favor of the Browns forming a plan and following through with it. I agree it would be ridiculous to make any drastic moves after one game with limited preseason prep and a new coaching staff. Cody Parkey sucks. Kitchens beat the Ravens by 15 in Sept last year - we just lost to the Ravens by 32. A 47 point swing, and yet I'm still glad we have Stefanski instead of Kitchens - which shows what data is good for.

Nobody sane still supports this team.

I still support this team and wear my Cleveland Browns face mask in public on the East Coast.

God help us.

Perhaps. But the converse may also be true. Baker has played better when OBJ wasn't on the field.
If we could undo that trade, we'd unquestionably be a better team for it. We'd have an elite RG, a competent starting Safety, and another 1st round pick to fill in one of a handful of gaps on the roster.

The trade looked like a huge win because of the player OBJ used to be. But he hasn't been the same since his injury in New York.
