2020 NFL Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dallas is currently on pace to have the worst defense...of all time.

Cue the Vietnam flashbacks to Freddie Kitchens. This sounds exactly like 2019 Browns football.

Glad the Browns didn't hire this guy.

To be fair, at least their offense was really good up until Dak's injury. Our offense was dog shit last year despite elite talent and our defense was even worse.

McCarthy had Zeke on the field nearly the entire 17 play drive down 28 in the 4th quarter. He actually took a pretty big hit as well.

he was taking timeouts to get the ball back down 21 with 2 minutes left right before Drake ripped that last TD run

he then proceeded to run the 3rd string running back 3 straight times to end the game
The game management definitely gave Kitchens vibrations. Like what was the fucking point of all of that

Thank goodness the Browns went with Kev. No way that glob would make it through the bye week here.

What do the scouting people say about Jabrill Peppers since the Browns traded him? I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought he'd be awfully useful right now as both a safety and a returner...

Daniel Jones gonna make it hard for NYG to draft a QB. Especially if they keep Gettleman.

He is having a bad year, actually. He was injured during week 3, out week 4, and missed a few tackles last weekend.

Early returns on Andrew Thomas are less than flattering. The Browns, Jets and Buccaneers all say thank you :chuckle:

He’s been absolutely horrific.

Plenty of time for him to turn it around, but he has been a serious waist bender so far which ain’t good.

Wills has had his ups and downs, but Thomas has been the worst guy in the league at the position *and* has already been benched/suspended a game for violating team rules.

The speed of Jedrick Wills kick out off the snap is enough to know he’ll be a good pro.

Thomas feels a lot like Robert Gallery at the moment - not the same belief he was “sure fire” pre-draft, but that he looks immediately ill-suited to play tackle. Perhaps a move inside to Guard will help him, as it did Gallery who became solid in that position.

I think people have hopped on the Kyler Murray bandwagon a little too soon.

He's been very pedestrian this year and didn't light the league on fire last year.

Not to say he won't be good. But he's currently NOT good. He's very average.
Seems to be a pattern with these Oklahoma QBs.

Seems to be a pattern with these Oklahoma QBs.

If you really watch Murray closely, you'll see a lot of the same issues you see with Mayfield.

A lack of anticipation, a need to see guys come open, misdiagnosing underneath coverage, dropping his eyes against pressure, struggling to make throws from the pocket under duress, etc.

The glaring difference between the two is that Murray is obviously one of the best athletes we've ever seen at the QB position and Mayfield is a below average athlete.

So on top of Murray's ability to scramble for big yards if all his pass routes are covered, on top of his ability to beat teams with designed QB runs (and also forcing defenses to account for the possibility of designed QB runs), the single biggest advantage that Murray has over Mayfield is his ability to run out of trouble and into safer and more comfortable throwing windows after he's dropped his eyes against pressure.

Baker hasn't shown the ability to lift his eyes back up and scan the field after he's dropped them against pressure unless he's able to completely escape the pocket out into open space. But he's so slow and unathletic, it's difficult for him to actually navigate his way into open space against NFL defenders.

That isn't the case for Murray.
