2020 Trade Deadline Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So nothing going on? I was hoping for at least a safety pick up at the trade deadline.

Berry is really about to punt on the first season in over a decade that we had a shot at the playoffs.

I think Berry wants guys with team control that he can build with in the future just like Harrison was. I was hoping for an additional DB/S (we need a FS).

king was had for a 6th. That was a huge miss. Even if he left in a year we’d get a compensatory pick and at least have a great slot guy for half a year going into the playoffs.

Can we PLEASE stop saying that we could just bring in free agents and receive compensatory picks for them when they leave?

That's not how this works.

Compensatory picks are assigned to teams who lose more in free agency than they bring in. With the Browns being in one of the better financial situations in the league, that will not be us.

I find it strangely ironic that the same people using this backwards logic right now, are likely the same people who would be up in arms if we "punted" on free agency to the point where we were receiving compensatory picks.

Stop ruining reality. Football in our imaginary worlds is just like basketball where there are tons of block buster and smaller trades at the deadline and cap room gets you free players. No way football is financially different and out front office has a plan that doesn't include trading for expiring contracts for short term help.

Come on Ferry get off your fucking hands and trade for 3 pro bowlers already.

Guess how I know FrontPageNews just started following the NFL... :chuckle:

In franchise history, they have only made one deadline trade for a player: Jaime Collins
What’s that have to do with anything?

The NFL trade deadline has never been like the NBA trade deadline.

Oh I personally know and didn't expect a lot, but I was hoping since they have a wild card chance to make a move to help their secondary. I dont like Sandejo (sp?) as our starting FS. Also Njoku seemed like he could be moved as well.

That means from my perspective Berry didn't find any players he was looking for worth getting and didn't have a high enough offer for Njoku at the end of the day.
