2020 Trade Deadline Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They already made one trade today. They'll probably make another move or two.

Before the season started, I'd say no way.

Now, with the offense failing to make the jump... I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up back in New England and the Niners draft a 1st round QB to go with Ryan.

The Browns could easily go into "Buy it" mode and get anyone thats been mentioned for the sake of competing this year. Most fans would be completely thrilled with that. What I, and several others, are suggesting when preaching patience, is a front office that isn't looking to compete *this* year, but looking to build a franchise and culture that competes EVERY year. They want to be the Steelers, Patriots, Seahawks, Ravens, etc. Once they get to that level of consistently competing, *then* they can trade assets to tweak a roster for a season. Until then, they need as many assets to build the foundation necessary to compete. For the Browns, that's through these guys drafting.

Be honest with yourselves, how many guys on this current roster would you want playing any real minutes for this team in 2-3 years? How many in 3-5 years? If the number is low, that's why you don't give up draft picks to compete for a year when your roster isn't built to do much more than play 1 game in the playoffs.

Yea the 9ers are a good team. Really good.

Just too many injuries this year.

But I wouldn't be surprised if they move on from Jimmy G after this season.

We're projected to be 4 million over the cap next year.

I simply don't disagree and actually don't think we're as far off of the two other teams in our division as the two games scores suggested.

We had a snowball of things happen in both of those games. Far from our best play and missing CHubb for the Steelers game. Fake punt, 99 yard TD drive in the Ravens game. Going for it down 17-3 on our own 20 and a pick 6 in the Steelers game.

We will play them MUCH, MUCH better than we showed at home, mark my words on that.
Im fairly certain the NFL cap is a farce. I dont know a ton about it but teams seem to find ways to manipulate it every year. The Saints are $92M over the cap next year. That certainly has to mean that if we can find away to acquire enough talent; we can keep them.

Get me Dylan Moses & Jay Tefele in this draft. IDC what we do with the rest of the picks.

Dylan Moses is a special athlete, but PFF has been rough on him so far. He has been struggling when the offense designs ways for him to shed blockers. He could be there for the Browns pick, which seemed impossible preseason.

I think if he has the right DT in front of him; he is a game changer. Teams wont be always able to scheme against him when others are out there to make plays. He's big enough to man a TE, quick enough to spy a QB, with plenty of room to fill out. Hes a big dude, but he can get bigger. We desperately need a veteran out there with him and Mack to atleast show them to play the right way.

I also think that if our secondary wasnt decimated by injury/Sendejo the LBs could be called on more to make plays than sit in a zone.

I had him at #2 linebacker going into the season behind Parsons at Penn State. His numbers against both the pass and rush have been mediocre, again because he needs work shedding blocks. I think I may have the Notre Dame kid over him for now, but it's been a very small sample size.

The thing about Moses is that he’s at Bama. There should be no shortage of iDL talent in front of him. Barnore and LaBryan Ray are both considered draft able DTs.

If I was going to make any allowances for him so far, it would be that he missed almost all of last year with injury and went from being a freshman surrounded by elite upperclassmen to being a junior expected to be that elite upperclassmen but having missed out of a key year of development.

Also, surely it’s been brought up already, but in regards to Kwon Alexander, in addition to all the games he’s missed with injury, he also has somehow managed to lead the NFL in missed tackles since he entered the league. I’m not sure if that in a per game basis or if he actually has missed all those games and still leads the league in raw total missed tackles. Either way, might be more of a name than a food player at this point.
