2019 Draft, Pick #30 - Kevin Porter Jr., USC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Your point? I work with drug addicts who abuse woman children all kinds of horrible disgusting behavior, most of them don’t change it’s an unfortunate fact of life. Many people are able to recover and reintegrate into society, but the ones who show sign of mental illness mixed with drug use even pot very rarely are able to reintegrate and normally end up in prison or back in the clinic. You don’t want somebody like that on a professional basketball team. The guy punched a woman in the face for crying out loud. Seems to be suffering from delusions, displaying violent behavior and like a previous poster stated illnesses like schizophrenia normally come into affect around this age (20-25)
I’m not saying KPJ is schizo or a drug addict there isn’t much evidence which points to either of those conclusions, but his recent behavior pattern is very alarming.
You can laugh and make fun of me if you want, really don’t care.

Battle of the psychologists!

I wouldn't pay either of you a god damn dime though.

I’ll take it on the chin fellas and didn’t mean to sound pretentious. But I really think this kid got major mental issues. Guess we’ll wait and see .

Delusions?!?
Where in the fuck have delusions ever come into play?

And I seriously question your credentials. I'd bet you're nothing more than a substance abuse counsellor, aka, you caught a felony charge for an 8 ball and took a few courses at the local community college.

I've probably gotten more people off hard drugs than you have.

Wow dude no need to get so personal, I was referring to him accusing the security guard of aggressing him when witnesses claimed it was the other was around. Don’t have to know much about psychology to see that paranoia is a symptom of mental illness.
Also I’m taking clients if you want to sort out your anger issues. :)

19 year old kid raised in the streets with no guidance. Doesnt mean he wont get it together, he yelled at some security guards in front of cops...is that the video?

I am not saying its good, but that is partly a product of maturity and lack of role models. We will see if he matures, but we dont know what the personal issues are and i hate all the blind speculation.

If you don't like speculation, then just judge him on his actions alone. The speculation only comes in when people start looking for excuses or mitigation for his behavior.

Based on the way you just spoke of the people you supposedly work with, I'd wager you are in the wrong profession.

Thanks for shit takes.

I mean I help people mainly with addiction problems, not an expert on mental illness by any means. But many people with drug and addiction issues use alcohol and drugs to self medicate mental illness. Of course I would never talk like that to or about any of my clients, but KPJ isn’t one of my clients and I’m on a anonymous Internet forum. And again not saying anything about the kids character was just pointing out what I saw. In the last couple months he’s totaled a car, punched a woman in the face and had an altercation with security guards where he had to be held back by police.he also had some issues in college that resulted in punishments.
He might be facing jail time if it wasn’t for his mother bailing him out and the other charges were dropped likely also to his “star” status
Again I hope the best for the kid but all the signs I’m seeing show that something is not right with him. Don’t forget he also had that bizarre suicidal Instagram post not that long ago. I don’t think he’s a drug addict so my go to explanation to this kind of irrational behavior is possibly mental illness.

You are free to disagree! Just stating my opinion, and as for my credentials I have masters from Leiden university in the Netherlands (my mother is from Painsville OH but I moved to Europe at a young age)
