Im not against criticizing things the guy actually did.

I am against a guy, who we understand to be struggling with some mental issues (of his own admitting as well as what we’ve read over the past year), having profiles assumptions made against him in here.

As far as hard proof, I mean, no, we don’t have any. That’s very much the nature of mental illness, however. Was there proof that Kevin Love was depressed that the average Joe fan could see? Of course not.

Id argue we have more proof that he has underlying issues than that he’s just a shitty human being at age 20.

I’m personally not excusing his behavior, so I’m sorry if I was unclear about that. It’s obviously unacceptable and I support the firm stance the Cavs appear to be taking regarding it. I also really support the Cavs for clearly seeing the need to have him in structure around the team even though he needs to be punished in some way. That shows me that they get it.

I think you and Q-Tip are arguing the same thing. I also don't think Q is saying KPJ is a shitty human being. Not at all. Just that we do not know what the hell is going on.

The nature of the internet seems to be people running wild with speculation based on very few actual facts or context for what few facts they may have heard about.

I see it in a majority of conversations here and well, everywhere. I find it somewhat ironic considering the internet is supposedly a place to find facts. In reality it is a place full of speculation and gossip.

Too bad, it had so much promise.

I have the misfortune of having been around before the internet existed, and I gotta tell ya: it is NOT the place to find facts. Sure, some factual information exists there, just like some factual information exists in a typical newspaper.

But I would be a little more skeptical about anything I see, on general principle. Maybe even this post...

I could understand perhaps calling the whole car-flipping/gun/pot thing a "mistake". But the way he was acting and talking to that security guard, with the cops right there wasn't a "mistake." You don't do something like that by accident.

I have a really hard time watching that and not thinking "this kid is just bad news." Maybe not "shitty human being territory" quite yet, but I'm getting some Latrell Sprewell vibes from that video, and that ain't good.

Obviously, anyone can change. But in terms of where he is right now, there is a damn disturbing pattern.

Apparently was threatening to kill the security guard and has a pretty crazed look in his eyes. Highly doubt a security guard randomly assaulted him...

And I am actually a psychologist who works in a drug rehabilitation clinic, I see this sort of stuff all the time. One of my oldest friends has schizophrenia, which came about around the same age. This pattern of behavior, his fathers behavior and his traumatic childhood are all bad indicators. Really hope he works it all out but seems to be getting worse and not better
