2019 Draft, Pick #30 - Kevin Porter Jr., USC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sounds like salary dump as I do not believe we will get the pick with being protected. Good luck to KPJ and I hope his mental issues as a person will be fine.

I’d be upset at losing the type of talent KPJ has, but this summer has completely soured me out on him. The organization gave him plenty of chances, time to just say goodbye. Hope that he’s able to go figure it out in Houston.

Even though it would be bittersweet for us given the next to nothing return, I not only wish him well in his personal life but hope he blossoms into the player we saw glimpses of.

I'm just glad he's in the Western Conference so *if* he makes it, we won't have to face him.

Also, a concern would be having him around a player with known anger issues (Cousins) and known gang activity (Wall). I guess we shall see.

Sucks, regardless of circumstances.

It really limits the ceiling of this team. He was lotto talent and we got him at the 30th pick. We are now overachieving and the timeline might get screwed up. We might get stuck with not enough talent to truly compete. We might be a playoff team but max out with second round exits year after years.

A heavily protected pick that they say will never be conveyed! The Cavs basically GAVE HIM AWAY! In Houston they are going to have John Lucas work with him! If Lucas can’t get through to him then his next stop will the nearby YMCA or the city leagues in his home town.

I hope nothing but the best for him. I hope he gets all the help he can get...

And I don't understand, why people calling him names. It didn't workout with the Cavs move on. People act like, he did something directly to them.

Fedor mentioned on the podcast the organization wanted this dealt with quickly.

Porter in Houston. Oh boy. Good luck I guess.
