In the long run coaches don't determine playing time, not in the NBA. Players do based on their performance.

If Wade continues to play well he'll get minutes. If he lights it up consistently he'll start.

Your theory that the NBA doesn't value really good undrafred players is just wrong. Any NBA team would be thrilled to have Dean Wade's contract if he could do 16 - 8 as a PF and play D, especially with a three point shot. The reason is the team can use cap money elsewhere.

I don't understand why you are so upset. The Cavaliers have brought him along fairly well IMHO. He's far from a finished product and he'll have to face some beasts if he starts consistently (so far he hasn't had to do that). Like all players with limited experience it will take time for him (that doesn't apply to LeBron and Zion and similar players of course).

Reading these post is somewhat Challenging anyone who is honest and not trying to show that he or she is smarter than the next person knows as far as the it factor .not counting the player interaction with other players pure talent stands out..You can tell right away if they have it or not the fun about sports is not only for your team to win but to try and find that special player that has it.

It’s not exactly rocket science to think they want to get out of Love’s and Drummond’s contract. Lol that is a shocker!!!!!!

Now explain why anybody would be forced to take Prince on a trade because they don’t want him when they traded for him. If the Nets wanted to dump him ...... they could dump him. I’ll wait patiently for the insider information! lol

There’s a lot of people you pay 6.99$ a month to subscribe to for your “insider” information! They don’t know any more than anybody else but they like to guess and write crap like that for a living!! That’s why they exist and can make a living on writing shit like that so that armchair fans can be “experts!”

It might be a little better if you had the contact directly for yourself, or were friends with his college head coach, or talked daily to his parents and his agent.

As you said earlier “I don’t know why your not old enough to understand that?” Try living it and interact with people who live it and not just read it in the media.

And I’m not upset at all about Dean’s progress and playing time now..... Koby finally gave him a chance and Dean then drew JB a picture to figure it out! It’s too bad JB didn’t figure it out on his own. I’d hate to have to have the principal or superintendent or the athletic director have to draw me a picture who needed playing time on my team. I have done well figuring that out on my own. And if I’m coaching I play those that give me the best chance of winning. Frankly Scarlett, I don’t give a damn about what draft pick you are, or what your salary is, or in high school you your parents are. I want to play the best players who give me a chance to win each and every night.

The “insider” information?? Mr. Gary says that Prince is a “plus” defender? Has he ever been to a game?

When Gary says "plus" defender, he means Prince plays like he has a fat suit on.

Oh, and yeah, they are trying to trade Prince, funny you were just arguing with me on that.

Mr. Gary’s an insider right?? Lol

I have no idea who he is, but Prince can be had from the Cavs for very little. So can Drummond and Love. 2nd round picks and a space to absorb their contracts probably gets any of the 3.

I’ve never got anywhere remotely close to saying that the NBA doesn’t value undrafted players. As a matter of fact everything I’ve posted is exactly the opposite. We need to play the best available on the roster. They are playing everywhere around the NBA. Maybe somebody else said that. Now I have said multiple times that JB doesn’t recognize the value of his undrafted players.

I was hard on him early but I must admit -- he is doing good things for us.

I mean he's clearly more impactful than the corpse of Kevin Love but that isn't hard to do.

Glad to see the young man getting an opportunity and making the most of it.

When I see your posts with that avatar I pretend that a handsome doggie is talking.

What a good boy!

It doesn’t need to get personal @Lee and @Comeback kid

And it’s getting close to veering on that

Stay cool folks.

This is RCF, we have civil conversations.

We have recently lost several long-time members who failed to adhere to the rules. Folks who met their personal Waterloo.

We'd hate to have some folks meet their personal Dennewitz.

I don’t consider that’s a problem at all. The only one who could make it a problem is Dean. And that is NOT going to happen.

What IS a problem is basing playing time on $$$. The insanity of the NBA.

The NBA and specifically the Cleveland Cavaliers have given your boy a job - a well-paying job as not many 24 years old dudes make the coin he's making.

Every other team passed on him. The Cavaliers signed him to a two-way contract, let him develop in Canton, converted him to a roster player, gave him reserve minutes, then decided to start him. He's had some good games and not-so-good games, like most inexperienced players. Yet for some reason you are hostile to both the Cavaliers and the NBA.

I really hope Dean is not talking shit about his current coach with his high school coach. Would not be a good look for the young man.

Guy looks like he might be able to play a role off the bench for a decent team, which is a pretty nice bargain for the Cavs.
