This is such a bad look for JJ Redick. He left a contender to chase the bag and joined a young re-tooling team that just traded away a top 5 player LMAO. If he wanted to leave so bad to join KD/Harden/Kyrie shouldn't he just give back most if not all of his money?
I think he was upset because he felt like he was lied to by the Pelicans front office.

It’s a little bit ridiculous how some teams can just acquire aging stars on the cheap. There should be rules against it, but one would have to be thoughtful about the rules. It makes a mockery of competitive balance in the league.I think you can crown the Nets for 2021. This team is just stacked. Yeah Blake and LA aren't who they once were, but the way the game is played today just favors these type of players.
Competitive balance in the league? When has that ever happened? LeBron went to the Finals eight straight times. It’s a superstar driven league. Buyouts of aging stars are a very minor factor. It’s a little bit ridiculous how some teams can just acquire aging stars on the cheap. If you claim a player off of waivers, I'm 99% sure that contract becomes your responsibility. Not sure anyone would want that for these two. There are rules. 29 other teams can claim a player on waivers. If any other team before BKN wanted Blake Griffin or LaMarcus Aldridge they could have claimed them on waivers. They chose not to so the players became Free Agents.

Well that's the point.
Every other team had a chance to pony up and stop it and didn't.
I really don't wanna see the bitching about it afterwards.
Essentially this is just other contenders whining because they didn't get the buyout players on the cheap.
Out of all of the things wrong with the competitive balance of the league, this isn't one of them.
I don't believe that's the case. Given the hard cap rules, I think only teams under the cap could have actually claimed Drummond / Aldridge / Griffin and taken on their contracts. And since most of those teams are not competing for a championship, taking on Drummond at $30 million is a massive negative asset that would make no sense for them.Well that's the point.
