This is the around the NBA thread and it's what is currently happening that no one is really talking about. Didn't Durant do something similar before with burner accounts? I don't recall what he said, but I believe it was something similar. But let's not talk about.......because FEEELINGGSS.
Yeah, he was caught using burners to defend himself and engage fans. He's mentally weak. Which is odd for a top 30 player all time.

Yes, yes...”fuck your feelings” and all that.

I was responding to your post about “society” and “Karen’s “, bringing race into it, etc. There are places on this forum to discuss those topics and this ain’t it.

I don't think buyouts are a major issue. Contending teams have the opportunity to add an extra piece that's likely washed and doubtful to swing their championship odds in a meaningful way. But I do think the rules can be adjusted to limit teams to one buyout addition per season and/or include a player's pre-buyout salary on a team's cap sheet.
I agree.
Buyouts cost the player and the team acquiring (Bird rights) as much as they are usually done as a way out of a contract that isn't going to bear any fruit in trades, etc.

The #1 issue with the league as far as competition is concerned is that to win a title you usually have to assemble a number of players of rare, if not generationally rare skill. To get in the playoffs and stay there you have to hit very well and draft trades. Even the concept of a "big market" is screwed because there are tons of teams in legitimately huge cities that have SUCKED for years (Chicago, NY, LA even) that only flipped those fortunes when one or both of the above happened. I prefer to refer to the unlucky teams as the underclass. Except for maybe the Lakers, the upper class and the upper-middle class rotates from time to time.

Also, the unnecessary tinkering with the draft (I would rather there be no lottery at all than this weird anti-tanking measure) has actually worsened this crap. The year the Lakers conveniently got #4 in a year they needed that asset to pull off the Pelicans trade was pure bullshit.

Durant's a bitch and everyone already knows it.

Also, I'd say somewhere around 80% of the NBA players don't like gay men, but we all pretend otherwise because it's easier to root for them. But what he said...that shit probably gets said every single day in every single locker room in the NBA and I think we all know it.

Now...is it fair he gets to say shit like that and nothing happens and Meyers Leonard says shit like that and he's out of the league? Not really. But that's what talent gets you. If he wasn't Kevin Durant and was instead Daymean Dotson, he'd probably be cut, too.

Denver is my favorite in the West now.

The clippers see them again in the 2nd round and they're getting beat again. They want no part of that group.

I really wish the Cavs were in a position to throw a competitive contract for TJ McConnell's services this summer. They aren't. And that's in large part thanks to Kevin Love's deal.

He'd be insanely perfect here. One of the best backup PGs in the league (and a true PG) AND he has the mentality this team, and Garland, need to adopt.

How freaking good has Timelord been since the Celtics vaulted Theis and put him in the starting 5!?

The Raptors annihilating Golden State...
That score didn't even seem real, I had to go and look it up. How tf?! And Steph was playing?

Outtanking even the Cavs. Wow.
