2021 RCF Mock Draft: Discussion, Trades and Miscellany

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I have three players I’m considering at 62, and not even kidding, harder decision than the cost to get the pick or to move up to 13. I’d really like Keys to take one of the three, and make it a touch easier.

How did I do? BTW - I don't think Wyatt Davis lasts this long in the real draft as long as he avoids an injury red flag.

Nailed one of the three! Unfortunately, the other two play the same position.

Write up to come later, at work.

Basically it boiled down to Twyman and Williams, and ultimately... if Williams puts up his pro-day numbers at 6’3 285 in Indy... he probably goes in the top half of the second. This pick and the Isaiah Simmons pick are really what I think the Cardinals like in the front seven- multi-positional athletes. His pro day metrics are legit insane for a guy who was a consistent third round pick that a lot of people thought (mused included) lacked explosiveness. Best is yet to come.

A once-projected top-10 guy. Guards fall. When they’re done falling, they fall a bit more.

I don’t remember posting this initially my bad

@AZ_ interested in your opinion on Grant as a run defender. From everything I have read, he is really efficient as a run defender. He is quick at getting to the runner, does not miss too many tackles, and is pretty active. From what I have read, the bigger concern is his speed in coverage, but as you said, he probably projects as a versatile free safety. Do you worry about the tweenerness? Or is it a benefit?

I am always for taking safeties. They have a really high hit rate in the first two rounds and you can find box and nickel safeties much later. So, honestly, I am really just interested.

Definitely one of the better run stoppers at the safety position, and knows how to break down and fill in support.

At the Senior Bowl, he wound up taking the 1v1 reps against some of the WRs and TEs and matched up particularly well. No concerns on my end from a speed or agility standpoint, he checked off the boxes there to me and I'm surprised he was still on the board in this mock.

When you think about "tweeners," I think that depends on usage. I don't think he's a guy who will always be playing the single high role given how good he is against the run or as a matchup against the slot/TE. He's shown the ability to do it, and at that point it becomes the defensive coordinators job to put his players in the best position to make the biggest impact.

Its always better to "tween" when you've shown elite ability at all levels of the field. I'd be more concerned if he had glaring weaknesses in coverage or as the single high, but Grant seems to profile well with his ability to do either of those things at an NFL level.

That clip is amazing! Yeah, sounds like a guy that the Browns should be interested in...

If anyone is looking to trade back, the Lions would be interested in moving up again

Perkins is a steal at that point.

Okay, so does anyone else feel that Ronnie Perkins is really really good? And that for some reason, even with the suspension, that there’s no chance he makes it out of the second, despite continuously getting mocked in the third?
