I don't think Surtain does anything special enough to warrant a trade-up. You can get players with his skillset by sitting back and picking in the draft. He's not a one-time prospect that you can't miss.

I still don't think we'll trade up, but if we did, someone like Horn has rare traits that you can't find often. A perfect 10.00 RAS, with the type of production he put up, against perhaps the best gauntlet of NFL receiver talent anyone's ever faced? A lot of NFL scouts might have Horn ranked as the best CB prospect since Ramsey... which likely puts him as the #2 CB prospect this millenium.

Basically, if you want someone who can be solid and reliable, either in the slot or outside, that's something you happily draft, but don't mortgage the future for. If you think Horn is a truly generational talent, who will be available later than he should because of rare conditions (The way COVID affected the draft, the amount of talent at the top with QBs, Pitts, Sewell, etc) then you pull the trigger.
I agree that I don’t really see us trading up, but I think we are CB #2 away from being able to fully run Woods defense (so I’ll dream until the pick is in).

If we did trade at the right price, I’d be very happy with Surtain or Horn. Both would thrive as 2/1B across from Ward. I think Horn has better ball skills, but the athletic difference I don’t think is that big of a gap. Surtain scored a 9.97 RAS and that’s ranked 8th all time.

Looks like that's his 3rd down look right there.

DEs are Myles and Takk with Malik and Clowney inside. 3 corners (ward, hill, greedy/pick?) and 3 safeties (delpit, johnson, and harrison), with maybe Phillips as LB?

I take OBR with a grain of salt, but if the Browns were to move up, it’s probably for Surtain or Horn. I think if we were to trade up it would be with Philadelphia or Minnesota based off Berry and Stefanski’s prior connections.

Obviously not an exact science, but a quick look at the draft value chart says to move up to 12-14 it approximately requires 26, 59, 89, and 110.

For someone who values picks as much as AB, it seems like a bit of a leap. I’d probably prefer to trade our first for a veteran CB and keep our other picks than giving up what it’d take to move up that far in the draft.

I really like the depth in this draft of hybrid defenders. The college game is producing guys who are somewhere between a strong side linebacker, strong safety, and slot corner. They get labels like "linebacker" or "safety" but they are really a new position for a new era.

Some of my favorites:
#1 JOK
#2 Hamsah Nasirildeen
#3 Elijah Molden
#4 Jamien Sherwood
#5 Chris Brown
#6 Devine Deablo
#7 Israel Mukuamu
#8 Trill Williams

That much dime package, means a ton of nickel, i can see why we dont value LB's any more.

I don’t think we trade up, but if we offered 26, 89, and our 2nd round next year for 12 or 14 I would be very okay with it.

If we did go the Vet trade route, it’s seems Gilmore or Lattimore could be had for 3rd round pick, but you’d also be looking at a contract extension. To me, I’d rather stay up at 26 (or a slight trade up) and get Greg Newsome on a 5 year rookie deal.

I love literally all eight of these guys!

Bobby Brown and Chris Brown in the same draft? Man I think I need to Usher in this breed of new players.

With nine picks, Berry will be doing some dealing, and moving down seems only likely for future choices. Moving up for someone they're targeting in every round seems the better bet.

Isn't this the first year where the scouting department is full-time Berry guys and using his scouting procedures? Even with a truncated college schedule, it will be interesting to see the results of the first pure Berry draft.

Websites that call Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah just a linebacker are so Juvenile. I am being completely Ginuwine when I say he plays the same position Nasirildeen and Molden played in college - hybrid defender in a dime. Al B. Sure that's a list made for what Woods wants to do defensively.

Just back that ass up for a minute and stop riding that pony. You seem to be off on your own with that assessment.

Its My Prerogative, and i will take you down if you continue this silliness
