I like Guardians because then we're actually only changing half of our name. Literally just taking off the first two letters and adding a different four.

Edit: Wait, how does everyone feel about Cleveland Dians?
I think we should just be the Ian’s.

Just need to find a coach or player named Ian.

Just as the Washington Football Team appear to be transitioning towards a name that includes the first part of the previous name (Redtails, Redhawks, Redwolves, etc.) the Indians can pivot to a name in Guardians, which uses the last same two syllables. Makes too much sense.

I’m not to keen on the name Guardians.
I mean, we couldn’t guard a 3-1 lead vs the Cubs in the 2016 WS. Just saying…

I am in the minority for sure, but I think Guardians sucks. I won't be buying much merchandise if that is the way they go, so someone(s) will have to pick up my slack.

I have not read this anywhere about WFT’s future name.

yes, but are you in on my idea of Spiderians? will you meet halfway?
I like it better than Guardians..

Living far away from Cleveland, I could see anyone with no/barely any interest in baseball seeing someone (me) walking around in a Cleveland Guardians T-shirt and thinking I was in some kind of militia or other fringe type group.

1-2 ballcaps and 1 authentic jersey is about all I will commit to with a hard suggestion to all my family/friends to NOT buy/gift me any merchandise.

Well, if you do Guardians with criss crossed AR-15's behind it, then we could peeve a different group for the next 5 decades.

Agreed, it reminds me of Guardian Angels.

Guardians seems like a total flop to fans but the media will love it.

Finally a logo that pisses toughness and masculinity.

I've never got the Guardians as a military or Space Force thing.

You slap the name on there, in blue and red colors, with that familiar cursive font, and a picture of a bridge guardian. Done. I think people who think it could be something else are trying too hard.

I've also been a huge fan of the bridge guardians since I was a little kid, so there's a whole lot of bias in my viewpoint.
