You slap the name on there, in blue and red colors, with that familiar cursive font, and a picture of a bridge guardian. Done. I think people who think it could be something else are trying too hard.

I've also been a huge fan of the bridge guardians since I was a little kid, so there's a whole lot of bias in my viewpoint.

I just want a distinctive hat logo design. A bat that is a bridge combo or something creative.

I'm just wondering if there are negotiations going on behind the scenes with the McNulty's... if the name is the Guardians (I still don't think anyone knows anything), there's a lot of overlap with potential marketing images and Market Garden Brewery.

Luckily, if that is the name the team wants to go for, I bet Sam is about as nice of a partner as they could hope to work with. MGB gives them the imagery and the likeness in trade for being the official beer of Progressive Field? Win-win... except for MillerCoors.

They should put Chief Wahoo in the Guardian head gear and see if anyone notices.
 
If they choose Guardians they can just use magic marker to scribble "Guar" over the "In" until they sell the remaining merch.
 
I don't know. Having lived in Cleveland suburbia for my entire 68 years and working in downtown Cleveland for almost half of them, I never once connected Cleveland and guardian statues. Must be some history behind those statues that I'm not aware of. :conf (8):
 
I've said it before, and I'll say it again; my biggest worry with picking Guardians is that they'll keep everything else the same. Same colors, same fonts, same block C logo, etc.

Guardians is so bleh. But I'm not into the Indians nickname or Wahoo either, so...

I'd love to see something fresh in terms of both the identity and colors, but whatever that would end up being would be hated by the traditionalists.

I love the team regardless, and bottom line is I don't care much what it ends up being. But it would be nice if the logos, hats and colors ended up being something I wouldn't mind wearing.

I actually think it's wise to keep the same colors, font and the C block but adding a Guardians-themed image as the primary logo. Don't forget that Paul Dolan initially preferred to rename the team "Tribe", so I would imagine he doesn't want to completely overhaul the look of the team.
