Outside of McCarty for Columbus, a slate of interest grabbing SPs are starting for our affiliates tonight.
Man, do I ever want Gimenez playing SS in Cleveland. I can understand that the brass is hesitant to move Amed around again, and that they want Miller to get a fair trial, but Dang! That kid looks like a player!Nolan Jones with three hits total last night including a home run, which is his tenth for the season. His OPS is now up to .769 on the season. Andres Gimenez had two hits on the night, which raised his OPS for the season at Columbus to .844.
I don't know what his advanced stats look like in AAA but he had a pretty diagnosable problem offensively (chasing at, and missing bad pitches) so I wonder if any progress has been made on that front. He wasn't even so bad at it when he played for the Mets so I have hope he'll find his way out of it.Man, do I ever want Gimenez playing SS in Cleveland. One would think that the remainder of this season would be a more opportune time to allow Andres to work through any issues as opposed to waiting until 2022. His defense and power are very intriguing, but he's hitting the ball very well of late too. I say get his ass up here, put him at SS, move Amed to 2B and see what happens. It's not like his clock hasn't already started.I don't know what his advanced stats look like in AAA but he had a pretty diagnosable problem offensively (chasing at, and missing bad pitches) so I wonder if any progress has been made on that front. Even without it though you can argue that his combination of defense and recent pop that he's shown makes him deserve a ticket to the majors.
