2021 Season | Series #44 | Brewers @ Indians | Sep. 10-12

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lauer has held the Indians hitless through 3 - Civale has held the Brewers to 3 home runs through 3
Indians starting pitching staff isn't setting the world on fire the last few days either. The return of "the starters" Plesac/Civale hasn't shown a lot of promise yet. Maybe when Biebs finally takes the hill

It's not a big deal honestly... We all have bad days

I don't know if it's because Tito isn't here or what,
But when the Indians play a team over 500, they play scared.

Shaw doing Shaw things. He’s finished in Cleveland or should be.

Mighty backup catcher Manny Pina, he of the .196 BA, is 3-4 with a HR and 3 RBIs.

Funny how comments quickly ended as the Browns game began.

The most embarrassing series in as long as I can remember comes to a fitting end with Reyes striking out. This is what the Indians look like against a World Series contender; a cumulative score of 24-4. Fifteen consecutive hitless innings in which the Indians went 0-for-48. Not in a million years did I think even the Baltimore Orioles or the '62 Mets could make 48 consecutive outs between base hits. This was humiliating.

The only positive performances were by Plesac, who went six innings allowing two earned runs to the #3 offense in the N.L. and would have been the winning pitcher if the Indians could have scored four runs, and Francisco Perez, who threw two scoreless one-hit innings today against the top seven in the Brewer batting order. I want to see more of this guy.

Even the defense was atrocious.

This series should give the front office a lot to think about as they plan for personnel changes for next season.

The fans who showed up for these games should demand their money back. This was rock bottom.

At this point, I prefer going down in flames. Winning ain't gonna do much, unless its potential long term assets doing the damage and even then, doesn't pay off much in the immediate. But down the road, perhaps. Let's see how high we can climb in the draft order.....

Yeah, I'm with ya on this one.

So why are Harold and Chang still in the starting lineup?

Hmm... if you've looked at the early articles, lists and other resources on the 2022 draft.. you can see that after the top couple of picks (Elijah Greene?).. that there is a significant drop in the talent available even if the Indians were to lose their last 21 games. The talent level between where they're at now ( about 13th to 9th..) wouldn't matter, anyway.. Climbing a few spots.. isn't worth it.. In other words.. there's not going to be a lot of difference in talent level after those first few picks up to and through around the 18th pick, imho..

..and that's even if you're being facetious..

btw.. at # 13, give or take a few spots & where the Indians are currently projected to pick.. any one of the top four catchers from this draft.. an exceptionally deep draft for backstops, should be considered.. could be considered as the BPA at that point.. and, would fulfill a need.. My first choice, FWiW, would be Hayden Dunhurst (Ole Miss) or Daniel Susac (Arizona) if they're there and two other players I've been watching..aren't.

Thoughts?..

Disappointing weekend for the Tribe.. the season is waning and it shows in the number of fans in the stands.. the number of responses on the boards.. and so on..
