The first two possessions of this game, Sexton came to the inbounder/rebounder and waved Garland down the court. One possession ended in Sexton passing it to Allen in traffic after a high PNR, whether bad pass or Allen just fumbled, it resulted in a turnover. The very next play when Sexton waved Garland down the court, Sexton took a step back three from the top of the key after a Allen pick when LaVine went under the screen. He made a point of saying he would do that and we want him doing that more, so I dont fault him.
My biggest gripe is that all of the organization is saying one thing, but it seems it has not been made clear what roles are/should be when the games start. And it also seems clear JBB does not have the fortitude or awareness to make sure these roles are defined and carried out in gameplay.
In an ideal world, Garland would do what Rubio does, and take the ball from Sexton and wave HIM down the court so he can set the table. Especially on the first few possessions of a game. If the org and the coaching wont do it, I need to Garland to grow a goddamn pair if he wants to lead a team and a offense.
Dillon Brooks aint waving Ja Morant down the court.
Man up, DG
