The person most to blame for Garland's low usage is Garland. Time for him to sack up and start showing more assertiveness than a kid on his first day of kindergarten.

This tells me I wasn’t wrong. He’s not running the point and the ball isn’t in the playmaker hands.

The fact that Pangos usage is higher with less minutes is a mess.

You know, one of Collin's greatest strengths is also one of his worst traits, and the same is true of Garland.
Sexton's aggressiveness and ultimate belief in his ability makes him who he is as a scorer, but it also leads to him dominating possessions way more than he should, and Garland's want to pass does the reverse.

It is on JBB to juggle the line ups enough to allow guys to do what they do best, but it's also on Altman to find some different groceries for the chef here. And, in some ways the Cavs had this somewhat figured out with a sane-KPjr a healthy Windler and a not totally incompetent Cedi Osman. But it is what it is.

LOL usage is determined by shots and turnovers, not by whether or not you’re the playmaker.

Garland needs to shoot more. He hit a couple of beauties last night more please.

We don't have a premier point guard prospect.

For an example of what one of those looks like, watch a Charlotte game. The difference just immediately jumps off the screen.

And I'm not saying that to be sarcastic.

The point is generally, if a guy is going be a truly special player, you see it pretty early.

You see it with LaMelo every night he plays.

Usage is a percentage, not a counting stat.

lol that's insane: you have an established vet and he's still got a 32 percent usage in the preseason!

Meanwhile your "franchise" PG has a usage of 15. Something is seriously wrong with this: Dean freakin Wade is using up more possessions than Garland

Not surprising that Collin is dominating the team in usage followed by 4 guys who don't spend as much of their time on the floor with him.

The guys who spend most of their time on the floor with him are at the bottom.

Not sure what we're waiting for here
 
Rubio is so nice to watch. Decisive, knows when to pass, is able to create, good vision, ball moves, plays so well with others on the floor especially with Mobley. I think the more time Rubio plays with Mobley, I feel Mobley’s development on offense will increase further.

I don’t see a world where Okoro, Sexton and Garland work together. I don’t think our FO or JBB does either.
 
Sexton’s usage is very high in part because he’s had a ridiculous number of turnovers, far more than his norm. He’s actually a very efficient scorer and you want your efficient scorers to have high usage, although not because of turnovers.

Dean Wade has high usage because he only played in the fourth quarter with a bunch of bums, so he should be shooting.

Garland just needs to shoot more often and not defer so much.
