I mean, Garland averaged 17.4 ppg last year. So, he has shown he’s better than 15 a game.
He’ll probably be around 20 and 7 this year, which is probably underwhelming considering the hype.
I’m just not sure how anyone can have confidence in Okoro. He hasn’t looked remotely like an NBA player.
I like Garland and I think the kid is plenty talented but there are two things I see out of me that worries me...
1) His lack of aggression - sometimes he just glides along in games when he could be controlling them on various levels
2) His durability- I just don't know if that frame will allow for consistent health?
Okoro had a weird season last year with no summer league or camp. Where I might agree with you on him is I like my NBA players to have an elite skill and I don't really see one out of him. He's a hard working guy who can defend and do things offensively well sometimes. I honestly think we don't use him correctly. I think he can break down people and pass the ball well and we constantly place his butt in the corner, which doesn't benefit him at all.
