Didn’t get to watch as much of game 2

- I’m getting more and more worried that Okoro is as bad as I think he is
- Bickerstaff is still clueless
- Mobley still looks special
- Rubio still helps a lot
- Garland still looks the same as last year
- Sexton looks like he’s trying really hard to be “the guy” and it’s blown up in his face so far
It’s gonna be a long year, with a focus on development. JBB is a good guy, but I’m honestly not sure that he’s the right guy to help develop our young players. He & Koby are likely on very short leashes.

I’m not sure how you give Sexton a big contract at this point? I absolutely love his work ethic, but I see our backcourt as much more of a question mark than our frontcourt. I’m still not sure how Sexton & Okoro fit and if Garland can/will take the next step in his career.

We have an elite player (Mobley) and a really good ascending player in Garland....
the team should be built around these 2. Lauri and Allen are useful players.
The rest of the roster is on the block in my mind. Get pieces that fit around Mobley and Garland.
It might be best to punt in the short term and build with the long term goal to compete for a title.

I hope they don't just use Rubio like Delly to get Sexton playing at a high level as a SG. Rubio doesn't seem to want to be here long term so we really should be trying to get Sexton to fit with a role that makes him, Okoro, and Garland all work together. If it's a 3 guard rotation with them and Sexton can run the point when Garland is off the floor, that can limit the time Garland and Sexton have to share the floor. It also creates a role for Okoro at SG. If they are trying to maximize the development of all 3 for this team, I think that's the only solution.

My frustration is that so many fans keep wanting Garland to be something he isn't. I don't get at all why people are saying he is ascending. If anything he appears to be regressing.
What has he shown that makes you think that he is worth building around? I don't see him as anything more than a 3rd or 4th option on a legit contender and a slightly better defender than now.I guess so serviceable defensively against most 1 guards but still a liability on switches.
Mobley is flashing what he flashed in college that got him picked 3rd. He is a wip as far as stretching the floor and playing outside the paint, but that is what he will be imo even though his dominance in preseason against nobody big really has been in the low post.
I think they need to play the first half of the season and see where they are and if there is any chance of getting into the play in they keep it together roster wise until next summer. Any moves now would only be Osman or maybe Okoro if they want to give up on him this soon. They are not breaking up Sexland unless somebody offers a legit upside SF for one of them.

I agree except I think they would trade Garland too if a nice young ascending wing comes available.

Players over 6’7” who are younger than 25 and shot over 38% last year on more than 20 attempts. I would take a look at Nwora or Brissett.

Yeah the only knock on Nwora if I remember correctly is he is a sub par below the rim athlete. So probably not a good defensive player. can shoot though so maybe if he hits the waiver wire and no contenders pick him up for injury insurance the Cavs could draw him in on a flier. couldn't hurt I guess

Stop watching preseason games and trying to form any type of opinion based on them. You guys sound ridiculous. These games mean nothing and you can glean very little from them. Why do you feel in such a hurry to spit out analysis?

He played well for the Bucks so far. He is cheap. No way they let him go

Yep. Really need to see guys making better decisions. That's about all you can look for. Okoro looked better than Garland and Sexton in preseason last year.

My only take home message is that I have been wowed by the way Mobley moves and his defensive presence.

-I think Okoro is going to be fine, which by fine I mean he'll be serviceable. I don't know if he'll ever be 5th pick level. Then again he's what 20?
-JB is beloved by the players but yeah, I tend to see the same out of him
- Mobley has been every as advertised. Digging it all
-Rubio is a better version of Delly and a starter coming off the bench (
-Garland is on my list for being over-hyped ALL off-season. The man has to show he's better than 15 points a game
-Young Bull has been turning the ball a damn ton, that being said I'll bet on Sexton to get it figured out
I mean, Garland averaged 17.4 ppg last year. So, he has shown he’s better than 15 a game.

He’ll probably be around 20 and 7 this year, which is probably underwhelming considering the hype.

I’m just not sure how anyone can have confidence in Okoro. He hasn’t looked remotely like an NBA player.
