Since I started this nonsense with LeBron...

I do think he quit at the end of the Celtics series in 2010. Whether that was due to a certain ride West or not is unclear, but either way I remember watching the end of that series in high school and being amazed that a guy could mail in a game that hard and still drop a 30 point triple double like it was nothing.

How he differs from players like Ben Simmons, PG, AD, or what we are hearing from Zion... he never left when he still had contractual years obligated with his team and never demand that they trade him to a specific team. He played out the years on his deal, tried hard with the exception of 2010, and didn't pull any of this sitting out bullshit. He clearly cares more about his reputation and has a better sense of honor than these other goons.
Thank you! The thing LBJ did on a consistent basis (and he did this to Miami as well) is held teams hostage by not giving them a heads up on what his free agent plans were. That was my only gripe about LBJ’s departures from Cleveland.

Cam Thomas is easily steal of 21 draft so far

Did you see the playoff series with Boston in 2010?

This is so overblown. Game 5 was weird, but other than that, he was great. The team around him did absolutely nothing for the vast majority of the series. Go check it out on bball reference if you don't believe me.

Sekou Doumbouya is available just saying. He was just waived by the Rockets after being traded by the Nets who had picked him up in a previous trade. Although teetering on being a bust at the 4 and being massively disappointing in Detroit who never got much out of him, I think the Cavs need to take a flier on this SF with exceptional NBA ready SF length and hops and bet on his upside ASAP. Maybe there are off court issues or something but he could be a steal.

EDIT Lakers signing him supposedly nevermind smh
Cavs should have jumped on that he can stretch the floor and defend just needs coached up

Its okay, we have Brodric Thomas.

There is actually nothing official about Lakers signing him so there is still hope and the Cavs and Spurs are the teams that should have interest. He can get better coaching in SA or maybe get a bench ring in LA but he would get the most development minutes here and would allow the Cavs to bring Okoro off the bench in a on ball role more suited to his development as a playmaker as well. Sekou is not a good basketball player though yet. He does however have a nice shooting stroke and hops better NBA SF body than anyone else the Cavs over 6'10 has and he is only 20 yrs old.

Simmons apparently considering a return to the Sixers. This is the solution that makes sense for everyone, it seems to me. It's not like he can get rid of the stink around him at this point by going to another team.

Well, that sure de-escalated quickly.

There's enough scorched Earth & hurt feelings on this one that I thought a reunion was next to impossible. Philadelphia fans once booed Santa Claus and they're a ruthless bunch, so we shall see...

The issue that Ben Simmons is gonna have is dealing with Philly home fans.

But if he plays well early and they're winning I would assume that will dissipate rather quickly.

Oo losing Taylor Horton Tucker is a blow for the Lakers early on.

horton-Tucker and Ariza. Not like the Lakers had a lot of wiggle room in their backcourt

gonna be interesting when the Lakers have an early season losing streak and Westbrook is stacking up turnovers and gunning missed 3s

I thought Ben was adamant he wasn’t going to return.

My bad - should have realized this guy would fold like a cardboard tent in a hurricane. It’s his way.

I think Ben was informed by Rich Paul that the Sixers weren’t going to trade him or pay him this season. Losing $350,000 a game starting in preseason has already cost him a cool million. It makes no sense for the Sixers to trade him now with Ben’s value down from all the bullshit.

What we know iRich Paul can do is get a deal done in adverse circumstances. He helped broker the return of LeBron despite the animosity between James and Gilbert. The best thing for both Simmons and the Sixers is for Ben to play now and maybe a deal can get done in December, at the trade deadline or during the offseason when we play NBA musical chairs (sucks for you the music stopped at the wrong time Shrooooooooder).

Sixers will take him back and I know Embiid will provide Simmons with air cover.

Sixers fans might lay off Ben a bit. They might be obnoxious, boorish and unforgiving but they aren’t completely stupid and realize that to boo Ben won’t be helpful to getting him traded.

Watch Embiid’s Twitter feed if Simmons does return.

As for how to deal with Ben from a coaching perspective - simple. Doc should tell him to shoot the ball and not worry about whether it goes in. Just shoot it. There is NO DOWNSIDE to this early on - Sixers can afford to lose a few games, they’ll make the playoffs. If he refuses to take open shots - bench him. Doc might be able to get buy in from Rich Paul on this. The way out of Ben’s perception that he’s a pussy is to play balls out and do what isn’t comfortable. (We need to see Garland do this as well - shoot when you’re open).
