Not much more to say. In a game where both coaches were playing to win, he was the first to blink and lose.

It's obviously frustrating. And the shell the Browns go into after going up 2 scores is getting old. They just run it way too much when they get the lead. I don't care how good of a running game you have, you aren't going to be a turtle and win in these games.

Didn’t this dummy do the same thing last week giving Minny the ball back and a chance to tie the game at the end?

I still wonder why he takes Chubb out of the game or during those situations. Is Kareem much better on short yardage?

Not seeing Chubb on the drive after the missed PAT was frustrating

And I know it is a potentially suicidal play call with the lead and 2:11 left, but I would have been in favor of the Browns going for it on 4th and 6 from their own 18. With the way Gillan is punting you know they're gonna get it at at least the 40 with 2 timeouts + the 2 minute warning and your defense just allowed 4 straight TDs.

He would've gotten killed for it if the Browns didn't convert but it was very apparent that the defense wasn't going to win this game for them.

A fucking two year old could see that if you gave the Chargers the ball back, you were gonna lose.

Should have played for a first down. Maybe if they actually tried to convert on 3rd and 10 it wouldn’t have even gotten to 4th down.

I'm not going to overreact with Stefanski. My complaint with him comes back to a single series.

It's a trend that is becoming a bit concerning, sure, but we're spoiled to only be complaining about that specifically.

I mean, you can laugh, disagree, whatever but fact of the matter is it took the Chargers exactly one play to get to 18
Doesn't make going for it on a 4th and 6 on your own 18 any less ridiculous. Make a habit of that and you'd be getting fired pretty quickly.

I have noticed we don’t seem to know what to do when we have a second half lead. I understand wanting to lean on the run, but we have seen it so many times where we let the other team make it interesting in the end because we are basically just running every down then punting.

He ran out of time in the first half with a TO in his pocket…

The plan of attack up 42-41 was just brutal. You punt, you lose. That seemed abundantly clear to everybody watching except Stefanski apparently. The D had already given up 4 TDS in the half and you are content to run a 3rd and 10 draw and hand fate back over to that unit?

I don’t see a single valid excuse for handling that situation the way he did. Even if Baker throws a pick, you speed up how quickly you get the ball back for a final drive. It was a catastrophic failure and I think this is starting to become a trend. The offense looks great until they have a chance to put a game away and then it grinds to a halt.

You don’t “make a habit” of anything. You play within the game- in this particular game, the Chargers we’re playing ultra aggressively. It was clear the Browns needed to also. They didn’t and instead decided to turtle up and thus were effortlessly beaten when LA got the ball back, as literally anyone could have predicted.

I can 100% confidently say we had a better chance to win by actually trying to get a first down on that drive, than punting and giving Herbert the ball at midfield down 1 against a depleted defense that hadn’t stopped him all day. 100% can say that.

Offenses are too high powered these days to try and run out the clock. You have to absolutely bury teams and we have a tendency to stab teams and leave them for dead but never double check for a pulse.
