Game Thread | 2021-22 Season | Game #4 | Cavs @ Nuggets | Oct. 25, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I thought you watched the game? Stats or no stats the difference is night and day. Garland needs to learn how to run an offense.
Nah, I didn’t watch the game, I was just in here typing about it. Stupid reply. Both moved the ball. DG got 7 assist. He didn’t do that just by standing there. I know you don’t like DG, but that’s a personal problem, not mine.

Take care.

I just saw something inexcusable from Garland. He made the pass to Rubio in the corner, went out of bounds on the baseline near him, and never moved away which allowed Denver to pretty much double Rubio on the corner... His energy has improved a lot, but he can't be doing that as a point guard.
This is my first post in like 3 years. Just lurk on here but yea i was wondering what the hell he was doing. I thought for a second he may have been hurt. It was really weird and Ricky had to shoot a 3 which had no chance.

I was thinking the same thing. I swear I seen him posting during the game.

There’s not many things worse on TV than watching Issac Okoro play offense….
The timing of this is odd. Do you hate him so much that you choose this game of all opportunities to bring this up? I thought he was great tonight

Aimless dribbling with 7 assist? One less than Rubio? After coming back from a sprained ankle? DG + 12 second to Mobley.

It’s only four games into the season, my friend. Everyone is finding their groove.
I agree with part of what you're saying. It's early and DG is coming off an injury.

But you saying their play was apples to apples because the stats were close? Bullshit.

Rubio moves the ball on time and with purpose, and he establishes a winning flow to the offense. He's also way better defensively.

DG dribbles the air out of the ball, and about half his assist attempts are off target and too late. He wastes shot clock, starts the offense too close to half court. No-one respects his shot.

All that can improve and I hope it does. But tonight DG sucked and we won in spite of his play, not in any way because of what he did on the floor. Sexton would have been a better choice tonight.

Defensively…. Absolute A+

That Garland energy is REAL and EQUAL from both sides.

The big circlej*rk to bury the kid from two games this season, one coming off missing a few days with a tweaked ankle is some special stuff. And yes, I do also see some superlative stuff being tossed around about him that has yet to be earned by DG either.

I also see a young point guard still figuring things out with a 3.9 to 1 AST/TO ratio through his two games

That's good. He's done some bad things too. It's been two freaking games.

It's going to really suck if this becomes more of a multi year war between posters takes on the player, done up to the hilt and personal, instead of actual even keel analysis of the player.

I know it's just one game but I was much more impressed with both Miles Bridges and Cam Reddish than with super max MPJ. Bridges and Reddish seem like better 2 way players.

This has been the point I've been trying to make for years about Garland.

In comparison to Sexton, he has good vision and keeps the ball moving.

But when you watch an actual competent NBA PG play, you can see that he has many of the same weaknesses Sexton does.

He absolutely, positively, pounds the fucking air out of the ball way too much while doing too little.

Can anyone even name a play where Rubio caught the ball then stared around the court for 5 seconds or backed it out to waste 7-8 seconds and then go 1on1? I don't think I've seen him do that one time this year.

And some posters don't see anything wrong with that. If Sexton did some shit like that hell will break. I dont why Garland dont get the same criticism

They use Bridges as a PF too. He’s been killing it. Reddish finally coming along. I agree. MPJ didn’t look so hot tonight.
