Telling that we need him so long to stand a chance.

The Cavs have a framework for defense. the outside shooting situation is going to be a problem. So much bricks and inconsistency. Hopefully it improves.

I'll save my player commentary for their threads/the season thread

He was insanely tired at the end. He should not be playing the most minutes on the team. JBB can't start the season with a 7 man rotation. It's just incredibly dumb. Hopefully when Okoro returns maybe he'll trust someone enough to give Mobley a fucking break and have Lauri at the 4 for a minute.
 
remarkable how Rubio coming in halted both major runs.

In that 3rd, he came in for Garland and it was at that exact moment the momentum shifted back towards the Cavs and we went from up 4 to up double digits in a minute or two.

Same thing in that 4th, only he subbed in for Sexton.


And I'm just gonna keep coming back to this but...it's because he's the best point guard on the team. He just runs the show better than Garland does.
 
At the end of the day, you got the W against a legitimate up and coming very possible playoff team.
Cavs have been getting leads in everyone. Even title Contenders. Young teams absolutely will struggle to close. Learn from it, do better next time.

We know the roster isn’t perfect. But we’re winning games and IMO making progress from
last year. Maybe not in every area for every player, but we are finally on the right track and it’s refreshing. We are must-watch basketball at this point for me.

Tough road trip. Great job going 3-2. I’ll take all day.

now to see Mobley dominate at home!!

another positive is that it’s a lot easier to practice and actually get work in on the things that you need to work on when you’re not on the road

Yeah I have a bad feeling Mobley is going to get injured out there really soon if Cavs don't do a better job monitoring his minutes.

any insight on why Rubio was a +23 in just 25 minutes of play despite lousy box score stats? Did we look that much better with him in or was it just coincidence?

Yes.

Garland and Sexton did not work together.

No he was the only guy effective at running the team tonight.
 
Obviously this team is nowhere near a finished product but to survive three second half runs to win on the road at the end of a grueling trip says a lot about the character and fight on this team.

Allen was just a beast tonight. $20 million a year is a bargain.

Really, really proud of our team. They are worth watching and we’ll get better.
