People are cautious as they’ve had good starts before only to go in the tank and end up back in the lottery. This year is different. The Cavs are older, more mature, and they play with a confidence, determination, & resilience, the likes of which, we haven’t seen in quite some time.Cleveland sports fans are so scared to get excited. I don't know if anyone listens to the Locked on Cavs podcast but they are still cautiously hopeful that the Cavs can be in the mix for the play in.
I get the caution in some ways...but I won't see, for example, a 10th place finish and a play in berth without going to the actual postseason as an outstanding season.
The Cavs have the best front court just about every single night they play, on top of solid guard (ok, PG) play. The Lauri experiment is even working so far.
Just saying, I have raised my expectations. This team knows they are good.
Honestly, with the way they’re playing, just making the play-in tournament would be a disappointment. I see a team that is better than that and should be higher than a 7-seed in the playoffs. I truly think they can be this year’s Hawks or Suns and make a run at the Finals. Just cause people didn’t expect it doesn’t mean it can’t happen.
The Cavaliers are good- I mean, really good. Let’s sit back & enjoy the ride.
