2022 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Alright, I think, after my first little peak into it, if the Browns do draft a QB, my preference:

Malik Willis
Desmond Ridder
Matt Corral
Carson Strong

Sam Howell
Kenny Pickett

Malik Willis shouldn't be a first rounder. He's like a DeShone Kizer prospect that should hold a clipboard until he figures out how to play the position. Occasionally, those "Bionic QBs" with all the tools and none of the brains works out, but I don't want to spend a first rounder to find that out.

I don't think that's really the case with Willis. He needs severe work with his footwork, but he makes solid reads.

He plays a lot like rookie Jalen Hurts. I think there is definitely a good starter there, maybe more, and his legs are impressive.

The end got me to audibly laugh.

Pickett and Howell are absolutely brutal to watch tape of, and both think they’re legit superstars. I got sucked into Pickett’s arm strength for a bit, but it’s like… if it wasn’t that strong, he’d be scrambling out of pockets and throwing picks in the flat. I think he has Jameis pre-lasik turnover potential. Howell is just Baker but massively worse.

Weren't folks in love with David Bell out of Purdue for a big portion of the year? What happened to that infatuation?

I was, but then again I am a Purdue alumni.

Bell is probably a 2nd rounder. He probably runs a 4.7 40 or so which will have him drop. If he runs 4.5 or under, he might slip into the first. Good size, great hands, great route runner....but questionable speed.

I've decided that if the results of sucking this year are getting Jameson Williams, then it's very much worth it.

He's not quite Chase level prospect, but damn is he good. Only thing I'm worried about is it being only one year of production. But his ability to burst open deep down field is incredible, and he has some special traits after the catch.

Olave really intrigues me as well. Dude is so special with the ball in his hands

What's the deal with Pickett? Most mocks have him as the 1st QB off the board, have pretty solid reviews, solid skillset, yet a lot of fans don't want him.

When you watch his tape, it doesn’t match the stats.

Horrible pocket presence. Horrible decision making.

He's also older (turns 24 before training camp) and he has absolutely tiny hands.

FYI, most analytics think that age isn't a deal breaker at QB (Outside of the obvious outliers like Weeden or John Beck)

What about right tackle?

Has to be addressed. Conklin is probably out for most of next year too, although I do think the Browns can get by with a little more help.

Hell, they could address it by moving Bitonio to LT, Dunn to LG, and Wills to RT.

----------------

Gun to my head, the best QB in the 2022 draft is going to be Malik Willis, depending on where he ends up. I know some people hate his accuracy/hold the ball tendencies, but I think that guy is the prototype of what the modern NFL wants in it's QB.

If he's there for the Browns in the 2nd, I pull the trigger on him with no hesitation. I might even trade up into the 1st round to get that 5th year option.

I'd be very surprised if they move Wills to RT. Even more surprised if they move Bitonio to LT
Realistically, they'd probably just play with Hudson or Hance at RT.
