The Hunt thing truly was blown out proportion to what actually occurred.

Personal opinion, and hope I’m not misremembering the circumstance, but calling anyone any derogatory slur is grounds for actual kicking, IMO. Regardless of gender.

Just like when Myles tried to kill Mason. Justified.

Remember, he had 3 alcohol related offenses in under 6 months, it wasnt just the one on camera. If he had just the one, I dont think KC cuts ties with him.

The video itself in just the one incedent isnt that brutal. He wasnt the aggressor and he didnt bunch her. He pushed the one, then they take him away and she still keeps coming after him and he knocks his friend into her. Wasnt good, but not that bad.

But it was the 3rd time in 6 months

True. But the three incidents resulted in no charges and are, in my view after some scrutiny, questionable, though there is no denying he needed to change his behavior.

The incidents:

1) A man claimed he was assaulted by Hunt and a teammate at a bar, after the man inserted himself into a brawl and admits to throwing punches. Hardly a bystander. No charges filed.

2) A report from an incident in Ohio alleged that Hunt punched a man at a bar. The facts were never substantiated and no charges were filed.

3) The incident with the woman which was played up as an assault, but later it turns out she started the incident.

Now whereas it is true Hunt seems to be at the center of these incidents, and all three involved bad behavior at a bar, there seems to be a pattern of individuals having flimsy stories wherein they too were acting belligerent as well as the open verbal assault from the woman.

While it is true that he needed to improve his behavior, and that he needed to probably stay away from clubs and bars, and that it is true he lied to the Chiefs about one of the incidents, it is also true that none of these incidents, if one can even count two of them where the facts of Hunt's aggression are not established, are even remotely close to the myriad number of incidents other NFL players have been involved.

Hunt did not engage in domestic violence. He didn't beat a woman to bits. He didn't beat children. He didn't clock guys in the face unprovoked, or, according to the final reports, at all. He didn't molest multiple women. He didn't rape anyone. He didn't rob anyone. He didn't carry or brandish firearms. He wasn't caught carrying drugs. He didn't murder anyone. He wasn't charged for any of them.

And, unlike owners, he didn't solicit prostitutes nor commit widespread fraud.

The Chiefs were correct to discipline Hunt for lying to them, but in no way, shape or form, should Hunt's incidents be compared to what Watson is accused of, or what other NFL players have been convicted of in the past decade.

"Calling anyone any derogatory slur" is justification for assault?
I'm not saying Hunt assaulted her that's a little extreme.

I don't venture into the never to be named forum in the Off Topic forum but there's a lot of names being thrown around in 2022 for people with different opinions on idk... politics and The Science. By your standards people should be kicking everyone on sight.

I like you and @Sebastian both, but this is woof.

Absolutely difference of opinion, and I’m totally okay with it.

If you act like a piece of shit, and talk to someone like a piece of shit, things happen to you that normally don’t happen to you if you’re just… not horrible.

That’s actually not my standard at all. I was very clear; a slur.

You can have an infinitely different opinion of someone on politics or science. Calling a human being a slur is demonstratively different, and the appropriate likely outcome is different.

There’s a reason you rarely see charge brought when there’s video in which a slur is exchanged, and that person gets KO’d.

Everything you’ve said is true… but it doesn’t make those things that “normally don’t happen” ok either.

Where’s the line, ya know? It’s pretty clear had Hunt been in a one-on-one situation with the woman at the hotel that he WOULD have beat the shit out of her. He’s extremely fortunate that there were multiple people to hold him back because he clearly wanted to do more than he was able to do.

But she probably called him the N word, so she got what she deserved for being a mouthy possibly racist bitch, right?

Just not a good take.

I don't wanna get too political in the discussion. But I want to explore where you draw the line. Obviously you think calling someone the "N" word is justification for assault. But what about other slurs like Bitch or a derogatory term for Asians or whites or gay or nazi or any of the phobics. Name calling isn't justification for violence imo. Because where is the line drawn.

Absolutely! I’m entirely aware of the wrongdoing aspect, and the likely criminal aspect.

I’m just saying, me personally- I don’t find the person loosely tossing slurs to be much of a victim.

When you aren’t willing to type the word, that’s a slur. When you are willing to type the word, it’s not.

You know just as well as I do that there’s a massive difference between the N word and calling someone a nazi. Or homophobic language vs bitch.

Edit: to clarify, because I didn’t clearly say it- I understand when charges are filed in these situations, but unless they escalate to permanent physical harm, you rarely see charges brought. That’s because the “victim” looks like a massive piece of shit in comparison.

That’s just tough.

“Talk shit, get hit” just doesn’t apply to men on women for me.

Gotta be the bigger person and just walk away, which Hunt had the opportunity to do and chose not to.

I disagree. But do your thing homie.

My bad on quoting before the edit.

We can assume he’d do something, but it didn’t happen. We also know, and again if my memory serves correct, that she attempted to enter a room she was not welcome in, and then proceeded to call him a slur.

Like this isn’t a situation where she’s just a victim.

Totally get it! I was raised the exact same way.

I’m also not really someone who’s going to be called a slur, so I have no idea in the moment if I’d have the same reaction.

Gotta go with the fuck around and find out side of it.
