Remember, he had 3 alcohol related offenses in under 6 months, it wasnt just the one on camera. If he had just the one, I dont think KC cuts ties with him.
The video itself in just the one incedent isnt that brutal. He wasnt the aggressor and he didnt bunch her. He pushed the one, then they take him away and she still keeps coming after him and he knocks his friend into her. Wasnt good, but not that bad.
But it was the 3rd time in 6 months
True. But the three incidents resulted in no charges and are, in my view after some scrutiny, questionable, though there is no denying he needed to change his behavior.
The incidents:
1) A man claimed he was assaulted by Hunt and a teammate at a bar, after the man inserted himself into a brawl and admits to throwing punches. Hardly a bystander. No charges filed.
2) A report from an incident in Ohio alleged that Hunt punched a man at a bar. The facts were never substantiated and no charges were filed.
3) The incident with the woman which was played up as an assault, but later it turns out she started the incident.
Now whereas it is true Hunt seems to be at the center of these incidents, and all three involved bad behavior at a bar, there seems to be a pattern of individuals having flimsy stories wherein they too were acting belligerent as well as the open verbal assault from the woman.
While it is true that he needed to improve his behavior, and that he needed to probably stay away from clubs and bars, and that it is true he lied to the Chiefs about one of the incidents, it is also true that none of these incidents, if one can even count two of them where the facts of Hunt's aggression are not established, are even remotely close to the myriad number of incidents other NFL players have been involved.
Hunt did not engage in domestic violence. He didn't beat a woman to bits. He didn't beat children. He didn't clock guys in the face unprovoked, or, according to the final reports, at all. He didn't molest multiple women. He didn't rape anyone. He didn't rob anyone. He didn't carry or brandish firearms. He wasn't caught carrying drugs. He didn't murder anyone. He wasn't charged for any of them.
And, unlike owners, he didn't solicit prostitutes nor commit widespread fraud.
The Chiefs were correct to discipline Hunt for lying to them, but in no way, shape or form, should Hunt's incidents be compared to what Watson is accused of, or what other NFL players have been convicted of in the past decade.
