ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that Georgia WR George Pickens could "go deep into Day 2."​

Fowler believes that Pickens has a chance to go in the first round, noting that several NFL executives believe Pickens is a top-5 talent in the class. The Packers, Chiefs, and Cardinals "are among teams that have done lots of homework on him." However, Pickens 2021 ACL tear and off the field issues have some teams concerned. Pickens notably fought with a Georgia Tech player, picking up a half-game suspension; it's also possible his team interviews haven't gone perfectly. Pickens remains unlikely to fall to Round 3, but he could go later in Round 2 than expected.

I always love these reports that literally anyone without any sources could write:

- He could go in round 1
- He could go later in round 2 than expected
- He could also go in round 3
- It's possible interviews didn't go well

Stellar reporting Fowler. Lots of substance, and really going out on a limb there :chuckle:

As long as Pickens goes by the end of round 3, Fowler gets to say he was right.

Obviously fighting another player isn't great and I'm not excusing it, but it also happened during his freshman year.

If we're still hearing this character concerns now in early 2022 it leads me to believe he did not impress during his interviews and didn't do much maturing in his 3 years at Georgia.

Honestly, seems like the kind of guy where you just bet on the talent. Our current roster doesn’t seem to have any guys with major character concerns in so far as it hurting the team (Watson obviously has concerns but they don’t appear to have bled into the locker room) or locker room, so we’re probably in a good position to take a chance on him.

I would also love a shot on Kevin Harris in the 5th/6th to see if he's back healthy

Could also just be that teams who are interested in him are trying to make him drop further in the draft. Smoke screens and scare tactics are all over the place.
 
Can't wait to see who goes way above their projection tomorrow night. No more Mayock and Gruden won't help though :chuckle:

Taking out Mayock in Las Vegas using an outdated Street and Smith's magazine he found among losing tickets at the Golden Nugget sportsbook, Seattle, Houston and the NY Giants stand out on those lists for overreaching in the first round.
