Who is the dumbest big that is good? Wow that is so funny. Guys like McGee and Randolph finally figured it out, but there were a lot of bad plays before they got there.

I might get hate for this, but I think it might be KAT. He has more skills than anyone his size, but he doesn't have that star IQ in my opinion.

If by Randolph you're talking about Zach, he was never a low IQ big. He was a character concern guy who wasn't helped in Portland with Rasheed and Ruben Patterson as his "vets" as they walked all over Dunleavy and then really wasnt helped in that toxic New York environment with Isaiah Thomas mired in controversy and Dolan remaining a terrible owner to this day.

I agree with you whole heartedly though that KAT doesnt have the IQ or temperment to maximize his talent and I fully expect Connelly to either pivot on both he and DLo if possible or find a way to address that before they have to make another commitment to him in 2 yrs

Drummond I guess? Well the book is out on him now for some time so I guess not.

I would say Dwight was. He was just too overpowering physically, but if he had more intelligence, he could've been dominant for much longer.

Currently, maybe Robert Williams or Christian Wood could be some guys, although not "too good" level.

Anyway in any sports, the one single must have star characteristic is IQ. A smart brain and fast instincts for your sport. You don't have that, then I don't like drafting the prospect.

Very little l enjoy more than talking about big men who wasted their talent.

Category #1 - Party people

Plenty of big men seemed to love the game, but loved partying more: Jerome Whitehead, Chris Washburn, Roy Tarpley, Eddy Griffin, and Vin Baker come to mind. Pouring one out for Shawn Kemp, of course.

Category #2 - Slow Metabolism

Some guys were just too big for the game. Maybe they had a genetic reason, maybe they just didn't like working out. Names like Bryant Reeves, Eddy Curry, Oliver Miller, Micheal Sweetney and Sean May. Pour out some ketchup for Tractor Traylor.

Category #3 Don't Care

In memory of an all time NBA nickname: Joe Barry Carroll was called Just Barely Cares by Hall of Famer Rick Barry. This is the group with Derrick Coleman, Micheal Olawokandi, Kwame Brown, Bison Dele, and perhaps James Wiseman.

I remember Zach Randolph one time saying:

“Z-Bo don’t do pass”…..

Wondering if there’s room for a category #4, called “I Got Mine, Bitch,” for big men who pile up meaningless stats on bad teams. Drummond and Towns would seem to fit here.

#3 Andrew Bynum!

#4 Bigs with injury bug, but can't say that they wasted their talent just that their talent was wasted.

Jerome James #1 #2 & #3 over the course of his career

Shawn Bradley #4 using @N7RobBob injury category

Pervis Ellison was #4

Benoit Benjamin was #3

Fred Weis who eventually got internationally embarrassed by VC but was a lottery pick for the Knicks who never played for the Knicks was #3

Robert Swift who I was rooting for with the Sonics but just never seemed to turn the corner before becoming a drug addict was #1

And I guess Jan Vesely has to make this list despite scoring a early win for his legacy with his draft night girlfriend/kiss is a #3
