Which one was Stromile?
Maybe a little #3 and a little #4? He was a small ball center before the rules changed... but couldn't do much outside of the paint.
Which one was Stromile?
Very little l enjoy more than talking about big men who wasted their talent.
Category #1 - Party people
Plenty of big men seemed to love the game, but loved partying more: Jerome Whitehead, Chris Washburn, Roy Tarpley, Eddy Griffin, and Vin Baker come to mind. Pouring one out for Shawn Kemp, of course.
Category #2 - Slow Metabolism
Some guys were just too big for the game. Maybe they had a genetic reason, maybe they just didn't like working out. Names like Bryant Reeves, Eddy Curry, Oliver Miller, Micheal Sweetney and Sean May. Pour out some ketchup for Tractor Traylor.
Category #3 Don't Care
In memory of an all time NBA nickname: Joe Barry Carroll was called Just Barely Cares by Hall of Famer Rick Barry. This is the group with Derrick Coleman, Micheal Olawokandi, Kwame Brown, Bison Dele, and perhaps James Wiseman.
I was incredibly low on Wiseman. Not to toot my own horn, but one thing is clear now - you cannot bet on is low bball IQ bigs. Not that high.
I've been chastised for less.THIN ICE, MDS... like paper thin, my brother
You are one sly comment away from a place I like to call.. The "Rchfld Watch List"
This.
This.
This is so depressing.
Is C-Webb any of these? Don't often agree with Bill Simmons, but out of the 30-35 most talented NBA players ever, he is the only without a good excuse to not be a top 35 all time guy. All the others had legit things, like Penny's legs, Walton's legs, Skywalker's coke and also leg, Hawkins's getting fucked by stupid 60s NBA commissioners
He had an excellent career and was absolutely an MVP level player in that 02-04 stretch. The problem is that he could've easily been so much more. He should have been the third best power forward of his generation (after Duncan and KG), but Dirk and even Amare were arguably better.I feel like Webber was a clear MVP finalist for like 2 or 3 years in Sacto and he would have probably been an NBA Champion if the 2002 Western Conference Finals weren't one of the most dirtiest and compromised series/outcomes in pro sports since the Black Sox.
The NBA did not want a Sacramento vs New Jersey finals.
I can't help but consider that when it comes to the legacy of Adelman, Webber, Bibby, Divac, pretty much all of Sacramento basketball.
Not to mention he went into the Hall of Fame last year
