I think Pattinson was really good in the suit. A lot better than I expected. I thought he was tremendous. After the first few moments of how many Twighlight jokes could I get in, really great. Personally, the movie should have ended when the camera cut to the logo in the coffee, with the Joker scene as mid credit. Knowing there’s going to be two more, it has a really strong chance to eclipse Nolan’s, just because it got to a really great start without blowing through any huge name villains. There was a great Easter egg early in the movie of Dano in the loft well in advance of the reveal.

But uh, the scoring… a few times it felt like I was watching Star Wars. Was expecting Cantina Band at the Iceberg Lounge.

Couldn't agree more.

Or maybe end it with the scene where Batman meets Riddler in Arkham, but have it end with Riddler revealing that he manipulated Batman into bringing Falcone into the light. I didn't really care for the way that scene actually played out. It felt like it diminished the Riddler somewhat.

Amazing. Story was definitely not the focus of the film and half the time the characters thought processes and motivations were crazy, but none of that really mattered.

Some of the most beautiful shots I've seen in film, and some of the most stunning set pieces as well. The berserker scenes in particular, that was a masterpiece little section of a movie.

Saw Kimi last night. Decent soderbergh thriller shit during the pandemic. Strong central performance from Zoe kravitz. Worth a watch. 7/10

Everything everywhere was eh.

A little try hard on the humor. "Everything bagel" etc is not funny. How zany

I thought it sucked. It's a real shame, as I absolutely loved both "The Witch" and "The Lighthouse".

Nicole Kidman's character was really weak and overacted at times. Motivation and motives were weak and her direction. In general it didn't blow me away, but was decent enough. Much better than a movie like this, like the revenant.

Yeahhhhh I don't see the hype with The Batman. Nowhere near any of the Nolan versions. Waste of 3 hours.

The Batman 7/10

It was good but holy fuck was it long. Almost as many natural ending spots as Return of the King. Some of the dialogue was very on the nose about people's relationships and feelings. Give a point to Nolan for more subtlety of themes.

But damn I giggled some times at the absolutely ass whopping BatPat would deliver.

Riddler was a good villain. Really wish they teased someone else besides Joker though at the end. I love Joker as much as the next Batman fan. But seriously we've had two guys won Oscars for playing the character in 15 years.

Since this Batman seems to be more rooted in reality like the Dark Knight Trilogy I assume we won't be seeing Mr. Freeze or Clayface beating down that door.

Everyone can do their own interpretation but I prefer my riddler to be more charming. Good looking cunning and confident instead of this unhinged version we got.

I though it was an appropriate adaptation to our current reality.

The only real issue I had with the film is that the last act sucked and felt completely tacked on. The godlike image of Batman coming to rescue people at the end was laughably overdone and felt like it came from a totally different movie.

The film should have ended with the resolution of the Falcone plot line and then Batman meeting Riddler in Arkham. That's your ending and it's perfect.

Shocked but top gun 2 was actually pretty good.

I play softball w the dude who runs the bar in the movie. Saw miles teller at a dog park during filming
