Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In all seriousness though when you talk about all time great lefty starters, I'd submit Randy Johnson as being the best I have seen in my lifetime.

@BimboColesHair Who are your top LH/RH starting pitchers in the last 50 years?

Bimbo:

1. Bo Naylor is walking at Big Hurt rates this year, and has cut down the strikeouts as well. We're in June now, so it's less and less "statistical fluke to start the season" and more “whoa, maybe this is who he's becoming." Was this a point of emphasis for him going into 2022, and how sustainable do you think it is?

2. What's your usual burrito order from Chipotle? Because the least we can do is buy you lunch one of these days. Really appreciate all of the insights and info.

This is who he was when he was drafted. He was touted as having a very advanced feel and approach to hitting for a high schooler and he showed as much in his debut as a pro too. All the Naylor kids are built like that, why the youngest might be the #1 pick next year. The kids drafted or signed in 2018 to 2020 have come into the professional ranks under the most difficult circumstances possible, something that effected Naylor quite a bit last year. A 20%+ BB rate is not sustainable moving forward, but the feel for the zone, bat-to-ball skills, and raw pop he has is and is a great combo from a player trending towards being a plus C defensively. Plus defensive catchers that can hit will be the new plus defensive shortstops that can slug in a few years. If you have one before everyone else you'll have a huge roster luxury.

@BimboColesHair Who are your top LH/RH starting pitchers in the last 50 years?

I'll do top 3 for both.

RHP:

Roger Clemens
Greg Maddux
Tom Seaver

LHP:

Randy Johnson
Clayton Kershaw
Steve Carlton

Seaver just edges out Pedro and Nolan Ryan for me. Prime Pedro is the best pitcher of the last 50 years period, but that only consisted of half of his MLB career and he sandwiched his prime with some meh numbers.

Koufax' career was not just short. He was only a dominant pitcher the last four years of it. Truly dominant, but not enough evidence to make him the greatest lefty of all time.

Got way off topic here…

Warren Spahn vs Sandy Kofax debate?

Off topic?

Personally more than any other sport, baseball is about its great debates. Willy Mays? Ty Cobb? Griff Jr? Ken we include Mantle on the list or is he a center field. Heck would Mantle be the GOAT if not for that sprinkler in the outfield?

If we cant debate these things, then what is the point on being on a baseball message board or even being a baseball fan.

Off topic, I say on topic. Oh and the answer is no, Mantle is a first baseman, yes he would have been the GOAT if not for the knee injury, but Willie Mays is the best CF of all time although my man crush wants to say Lofton, lol

True story, a friend of mine who grew up in Vegas played little league with Maddux. My friend's dad coached the team and was very close friends with Greg. Whenever greg Maddux was in town (cubs in those years, later career) here in Phoenix my friend would go to dinner with him....a few times a year. I was never invited to those dinners, probably why I am no longer friends with the guy. How cant i be invited to dinner with Greg Maddux, lol

As a kid, my neighbor was close friends with Early Wynn. Sheesh! How'd I miss out on Ty Cobb.

@BimboColesHair I've read some chatter on Twitter about Nolan Jones changing his stance a bit, anything you can add? And any word how he's looked in RF?

Checking out the latest ESPN MLB Park Factors, it seems the Prog ranks 25th in triples and 28th in home runs. This is a measure of how easy or difficult it is to hit home runs or triples in this park compared to others.

In terms of scoring the Prog ranks 22nd. It's been a very good pitchers park this year. Last year the Prog ranked 24th in scoring and 14th in home runs.

I'm guessing that it is a lot more difficult to hit home runs in April and May when the weather is colder. We should see home runs pick up a bit now that the warmer weather is here.

Perhaps the number of games played this season?

I thought Jacobs/Progressive Field has always been labeled as a pitchers park

@BimboColesHair: A couple of things.
1) thank you for answering my previous question about the stateside roster limit.

2) Joey Cantillo was injured & threw only 13 IP last season. With that low total and the limited innings in 2020 & before, what sort of innings limit is he facing this year??

3) Tito has recently described Eli Morgan has a weapon he can deploy out of the bullpen. Is there another pitcher in the CLE minors that can be another 'weapon' for him in 2022 or 2023, perhaps a lefty?

I am intrigued with the idea of 2 'weapon' type relievers in the bullpen (1 right-handed, the other left-handed) that a manager could go to at any point to deal with a situation or situations during a particular game. Having 2 weapons also allows for 1 to be available for nearly every game...

Went to the Steven Kwan school of mechanics (minus the high leg kick).

This is his stance this year.

This was his stance last year.

Much less closed, a shorter toe tap for timing, less lower body movement to get back square, and a much shorter swing that is quicker into the hitting zone. Will be curious to see how his power plays with the new stance, but I expect him to put the ball in play more.
