Welcome Luke Travers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There’s a chance Travers might be running a little point at times for our Summer League squad.

At 6’8, 6’10 wingspan. Let’s go, that might be a sight to watch.

If he can get that outside shot down, we’re going to have a hell of a lot of fun with this pick.
He needs time with one of our shooting coaches. That shot needs a lot of work. Sooo sllloooww

Oh the shot is terrible, but that’s why he was fringe draftable.
He might have snuck into the first round with a decent shot - certainly early second at the latest. Easy to see the allure if that shot can develop - that would make Joe Ingles comps possibly valid.

Joe Ingles sucked till he was like 30. So you kids have a lot of time to wait for Travers to emerge. Will probably have a stint in Europe to begin his career. Maybe Barcelona or Maccabi.
Ingles averaged 15-5-3 on decent splits in the NBL as an 19 year old, they buried him in Europe and it almost cost him

He was not buried though. He was in a leading role on both clubs. He disappointed on Maccabi and really no one expected him to be this good in the NBA or become this kind of shooter.

I have not watched Luke really, is he similar? Is he good?

Leading role? He was relegated to bench player in Europe? Ingles was viewed in Australia as a better prospect than Delly and there was a lot more hype around him when they were younger. I think if Ingles had chosen to play college instead of NBL like Delly did he would have been drafted in 2009

Luke is nowhere near Ingles at the same age unfortunately, Ingles was a very good shooter from the start

I only watched him in his last 3 years in Europe (2 years in Barcelona and 1 in Maccabi) and he was some kind of a point forward. He had the ball a lot and pushed the ball a lot. He was slow though.. and for some reason he looked slower in Europe. So that's what i mean by leading role. He was prominent despite him only playing 20 minutes per game.

Travers did better in the NBL than Terrance Ferguson who was a first round pick at least..

It’s been 36 hours, and I’ve decided I fuckin’ love this guy.

Summer League, people will be watching Agbaji drilling threes, but I’ll be watching the guy with the blonde curls who passed it to him.

6’8, 6’10 wingspan, Swiss-Army knife. If he could ever just learn to shoot….

Same “just knows how to play basketball” vibes with Isaiah Mobley, who gives me 6’10 Boris Diaw vibes. Perimeter oriented big man who can sure facilitate.

Diop running the floor, blocking shots.

This Summer League team might win the whole damn thing. And those tee-shirts are going to be glorious.

Sounds like a fun time if you're right about some of these guys. I usually hate watching summer league games because they are so chaotic.

I love the thought of summer league every year. Then once it starts backup again I always remember it's just an excuse for guards to have chucking contests with each other and wings and bigs get overlooked because of the selfish guard play.
