2022 Season Series #26 | Guardians @ Tigers | July 4-6, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
About ready to post but you beat me to it ...

Few things ... We are in a stretch of righties for next 2 weeks until all-star break (even KC lefty is sch the day before they play us).

Thus, Mercado/Clement will see limited action

Naylor back is healthy enough to DH so may not be an issue.

Palacios is sitting again -- in a funk with his sub-200 BaBIP

And, after all this, they are still not listening to the posters on this board as they can easily call up Jones, Brennan, Benson or other lefties but for some reason like Mercado. Could it be other issues like development/40man space/or temporary issue till Oscar comes back.

I really did want to see some type of change...

Here you go SC .. other changes, just to what you wanted

Well today's lineup is out and Naylor is at DH, Miller at 1B and Reyes in RF...

Also it was Young and Pilkington down, and Sandlin up...

@CDAV45

You sure we don't need bullpen help?
Sandlin hardly fixed his control problems while down at AAA Columbus. Four walks in 4.1 IP across 4 appearances.

I can't believe we're 2-5 against the Tigers. That needs to change - now. How come we can't beat these chumps?

Today we face Drew Hutchinson, a 31-year-old right-hander with six wins in the last six years and a career 4.96 ERA. His longest outing of the year is 4.2 innings. This appears to be a bullpen game as Hutchinson has only started two games this year. His ERA is 4.81.

Cal Quantrill goes for the G-men. He has not faced the Tigers this year. In his last start he went 8 innings against the Twins, allowing 3 runs. Current Tiger players are 9-for-43 against him with 7 singles and 2 doubles.

It was published that way on the MLB app

They must run a commonly used lineup filler until the official lineup is given or something. He was never playing today.

I don’t think it’s an IL issue, but back issues on bigger guys is always a concern. Typically always linger around without prolong rest and rehab.

Nolan Jones reps at 1B?

6-9 is very rough. Gotta be bottom 2 in baseball.

Nolan Jones has only played 1 game at 1B in his minor league career. I don't think it's a good idea to play young guys out of position. See, e.g., Miller at 1B, Clement in LF.
