Mitchell is D Wade with a three-point shot -- best trade in the history of this franchise.

What was Utah thinking trading a superstar who is barely in his prime? I can't complain though.

Some could say that the Knicks offer was better, & I would agree. We got lucky in so many ways. I really do think Ainge didn't want to gift him to New York out of spite.
I think it was a number of factors.

1. Ainge rather deal with Koby than Leon Rose. He probably liked him after the Kyrie trade. Koby probably didn't give him too much trouble.

2. Lauri's performance in international play probably showed that he was about to become a star. He's better playing at all star level this early season so Ainge was right.

3. Knicks players are overrated by the NY media.

4. Ainge seen the Cavs roster and wanted to send a atom bomb to Cleveland. He knew with that roster, and the addition of Mitchell, the whole power structure of the east would change drastically. Thus hurting the Celtics (one of the top of the east) because they pushed him out.

I think his defense gets blasted way too often. I don't care what the metrics say. I saw him lockdown in several possessions in the 4th quarter. What he lacks in height he makes up for with his strength. I remember the play where Tatum got it in transition and Mitchell bodied him at the right wing and pushed him toward the corner. That's being a man.

Or, when Garland got switched on Tatum late and Mitchell yelled over and switched him so Mitchell could take Tatum and did a brilliant job contesting his shot from the short corner. Tatum just couldn't get around him when Mitchell got low and bodied him up.

He may not be an all world defender all the time..... but when the effort is there (like it will be in close games), I'm impressed with it.

Edit -- let me also add this wasn't against some scrub. Tatum is a bonafide superstar. Geesh that kid is legit.

Just seemed like a standard roll of the ankle. Was able to finish game with no issue and probably will take off todays practice and ice it
Anyone that has played a lot of basketball knows a bit about sprained ankles. Once the first one is out of the way, subsequent sprains are fine to play through unless it is a high sprain. He should be fine.

I see some promising advanced stats as well. His win shares/48 minutes is .232 right now. His previous high was .167. Most of that improvement has been on the defensive side.

His defensive BPM was -.3 last year and is 1.7 this year. Massive improvement.

Love to see that, because he's definitely passing the eye test but analytics don't always show what we think we see.

He just seems to fit in with our guys and really enjoy playing with them. And our guys seem to be listening to what he's offering also. Really like this guy.
