LeVert is in his 7th season and his career shooting percentages are 43.5% overall and 33.6% on 3's. Last year's number were right on his career averages, in fact, the 3-point percentage was down a couple of percent.
This year in a small sample he's hitting just 38.5% from the field. His 3-point percentage is way above his norm at 41%, but I think both those numbers will regress to the norm.
The point is - he's maxed out in his 7th season. He is what he is and there's nothing special about his game, although he has the potential to be a good defender against guards and small forwards.
With Garland, Mitchell, and Rubio at guard there's no place for LeVert, and IMO he's not a starting caliber small forward on a championship team. He's never shot higher than 44% in a single season. Among wings he ranks in the 21st percentile in points per shot attempt. He's in the 26th percentile in steal percentage. His rebounding is average. His only real strength is assist per usage rate where he's in the 92nd percentile. But with Garland, Mitchell, and Rubio on the team we don't need another distributor.
I think the Cavs will let him walk after this season.
