Game #26 | Kings @ Cavs | Dec. 9, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm sorry.

I just can't take this serious.

Garland closed games all last season when Rubio was hurt.

Now you expect that Rubio without even seeing him play yet coming of ACL tear 2 should just be the guy with the ball in his hands more than Darius fucking Garland? The All-Star??

You are upset. I am too.

But this makes no sense.

Rubio can alleviate some of the ball handling burden. But in no way do i want him with the ball more than Darius Garland down the stretch.

Yall really think this dude is jesus...lol
Cavs fans favorite players:

Guys they passed up in the draft
Guys still out with a serious injury
Whoever the 11th man is

Need more shooting. And yes that will cost us someone of value (?).

Need better coaching. That's not gonna happen until this one is fired. So what's even the point of complaining about it. He's not changing or evolving.

And you need better point guard play late in games. That's the one most under the teams control at current time. Garland needs to be coached, taught, and maybe embarrassed a little. He can be better than this.

Can't forget the 15th man from 2-3 years ago
I know a Cavs fan in NJ - not even from this board, just a guy from NE Ohio who I know - all he would talk to me about was Edy Tavares, Ante Zizic, and other bums he wanted to see play more. The thing is, when a guy barely plays, I guess there is no proof he sucks lol

Garland was 0-4 from the field with 3 turnovers in the 4th quarter alone. He's now shooting 33% from the field, 29% from three, and even just 76% from the line in the 4th this season, along with 4.4 turnovers per 36. Keep in mind, those averages are dragged up by one outlier performance against Minnesota where Garland went off while we tried to play catch up. He's been beyond awful in virtually every other game down the stretch this year.

But sure it's always ONLY JBB's fault and we can't put any blame on our $40 million a year PG.

He’s making 8.9 million dollars this year, won’t hit 40 million until 2026-2027. Calling him our “40 million dollar PG” is so sanctimonious.

He’s 22 years old and had a net rating in the clutch last year of +3.5. Trae Young was -8.1 and Luka Doncic was +4.4..for a bit of a continuum of comparison.

This year. in the very small sample size of crunch time this year Garland has struggled. Pretty uncharacteristically. Maybe it has something to do with the STILL SWOLLEN eye socket that kept him out 7 games that he just got popped in AGAIN last week? Perhaps maybe Garland is playing through a bit of an early season slump in that one particular instance? Maybe he’s struggling with the lack of spacing and learning an entirely new dynamic with Mitchell? Maybe he’s just plain struggling. I’m sure everything has its own place in the reasoning of why.

But I’m going to bet that by the end of the year he will be just fine individually but we will still have a lot of similar problems we’ve had as a team.

Im going to say only one thing:screw your defence effort,if you cant put at least 8 pts per game.I want to see buckets.I dont give a flying fork about Okoro or Stevens trying to stop someone. You can find one-dementional guys like that even in Night Basketball League whom will play for a chowder.Be offensive minded team like Kings are and even your defensive shortage wont be so crucial.

First of all, this ain't the first time he's went into the fetal position late in games as the Cavs went from a surefire win to an inexplicable loss.

Second of all, I love the phrase "turning on him" as it applies to professional sports.

Like these guys are my blood and family or I owe them some type of loyalty.

If you play like shit, and he did, then we should be allowed to say it.

And he is absolutely not as good as he was last year so far this season. Fact.

I wouldn’t expect him to be as good as he was last year at this point of the year for one of several reasons.

I can acknowledge his poor game tonight without incorrectly pronouncing him a non-clutch player who just doesn’t have it. That’s where it pushes the bounds of ignorance for me.

Isaac Okoro, 18 minutes, 3 points, 1 rebound, rinse and repeat.

The rest of it I can stomach. I can even take JBB continuing to coach the team because the guys like him and they can't really fire him at the moment until they have a better reason to.

I can't take Okoro continuing to get big minutes. I can barely handle him being on the team.

Stevens, who was 3-6 and had 8 rebounds, played 26 minutes. Should have just been 35 while Okoro lingers in the single digits.

YOU HAVE TO STOP PLAYING HIM FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

I know I’m beating a dead horse at this point but it seems like moving Allen for shooting/wing feels like an inevitability. The ball moves better when he’s off the court. They really don’t have any assets besides Levert (lol) and Love’s expiring (we’ve seen how valuable those are lol).

You’d think one melt down like the clippers game was enough for a couple of seasons and we somehow out do it just a month later.
This is what is soooo infuriating they were up 13 points on the hapless Clippers and fucked around found out and then went on a huge skid and they did the same shit again tonight on the Browns of the NBA. Darius was abysmal. He clearly is the beta and I no longer trust him with ball in clutch situations. DM should walking down the floor for the last 5 mins mins no matter what the score is because this team has shown repeatedly that no lead is safe.

It'll happen eventually but not anytime in the near future so why waste thought on it.

Mobley has been better and better playing w/o Allen in the lineup so unless they go out and find the absolute best possible marksman at the SF spot, Allen will be dealt before his deal runs out.

But again, that's down the line after a bunch of other things have happened.

I mean he signed the extension this past summer and he’ll be making $33.5 million next season. By your logic, because he’s technically still locked into his rookie contract we should expect no better than rookie-level play from him right now.

The point is he was just signed to a max contract. He has an All-Star selection under his belt. He’s in his 4th season now. It’s reasonable for fans to criticize him for totally shitting his pants basically every single close game this season. You can blame JBB if you want, but you can’t exclude Garland from that. There’s a certain standard you expect from star players in crunch time and it doesn’t just apply to DG.

That all being said. 16-10 is still a really Good start to the season. Put this one behind us and get Mitchell back tomorrow night, push it to 17-10 and then onto Texas.

This one really hurts. What a choke job. Cavs up 95-87 with 4:50 to go and they get outscored 19-0 the rest of the way. They went 0-for-9 from the field with two turnovers.

The Kings came in making 32% of their 3's on the road but tonight they were unconscious, going 16-for-33, or 48.5%. Keegan Murray is a 34% shooter from deep but was 6-for-8 tonight. WTF?

The Cavs were 10-for-30 from deep as their 3-point shooting problems continue. They only scored 95 against a team that is 23rd in scoring defense. OK, so we didn't have Mitchell, but they didn't have Fox so both teams were missing their leading scorers.

Garland played like crap most of the game. He went 7-for-17 with six turnovers and couldn't do anything except lose the ball and miss shots in the final five minutes when the game was decided. Great players play their best when the game is on the line. Garland was awful.

Allen was destroyed by Sabonis, who was +11 with a line of 18/18/6. Allen was -10 and 9/8/1. He also committed five turnovers and picked up his 5th foul on a dumb charging call early in the 4th.

Cedi played well off the bench, but still missed some uncontested 3's. Stevens did some nice rebounding. LeVert had a nice line of 22/6/6. He kept the Cavs in the game in the 3rd quarter when he was the only shot creator on the floor.

With all the injuries the Cavs had to rely on some guys that normally would not play; Stevens, Okoro, and Neto. Those three scored 12 points in 61 minutes. I feel like the injuries and the Kings' unusually hot 3-point shooting did the Cavs in, but even with the guys they had it was still an ugly choke. Getting blown out 19-0 over the last 4:50 is pathetic.

Hope Mitchell can go tomorrow.

I like Stevens allot, but he cannot play SG, Okoro can, so the issue is when Rubio is not ready yet and Mitchell is hurt, Okoro will get minutes.
