I'm not that high on Fox or Haliburton over DG either right now. I also consider Doncic and Harden more SG or combo guards. So my list would be the Old Guards (Curry, Lillard, Kyrie), Morant, and then DG.

Well, friend, that's being just a tad bit biased. Particularly in the case of Doncic, who is essentially that teams ONLY point guard. On the whole of the roster. Frank Nkitilina plays 12 minutes a night.

These lists are very subjective, but fifth is preeettty absurd at current time. I mean, I'm ranking him ahead of Chris Paul and that's probably premature to do considering he's yet to play in a playoff game.

Basically then Rich is making the argument that Darius is a better than average but not a top point guard. I’d have to agree at this time. We really need him to become a top point guard though. If both Mobley and Garland turn out to be good but not great players this teams construction is flawed. We need at least one to become a solidly all-NBA type player.

I do think Garland has a lot of room to grow

The question I have is whether it is possible for him to grow into that kind of player while playing alongside Mitchell.

I only excluded Doncic and Harden for those reasons. If I were to include them as PGs, I would certainly rank them ahead of DG, which would put DG at 7th.

I think it's reasonable to believe DG isn't Curry/Lillard/Kyrie/Harden/Doncic level yet, not quite Morant level yet, but after that he's the leader of the next tier imo.

Rubio's back which means fewer staggered minutes which is a good thing. If we can get Wade back, and keep him on the court, all the better. Garland would be a senior in college right now. He's a top 5 PG already. He's going to be a really special player.

No, Garland would be a rookie 40 years ago. Okoro would be a Senior. Mobley a jr.

PG is lowkey extremely loaded right now. This might be the strongest group of PGs in NBA history. Id have to think about the rankings but DG is cleanly top 10 to me. Historically that would put him as a solid allstar/fringe all nba guy and there is still time for him to develop.

I was wrong about him at rhe draft (wanted Culver) and im so happy about it

Culver, now there's a name I forgot about. I remember Culver vs Hunter was a big debate when DG wasn't really on the radar.

Had to look up where he plays now...funny how Atlanta has ended up with both Hunter and Culver.

I agree with you Rich. I asked because I am not sure besides DM- that we have a legit all star. I expected more from Garland this year..I really did. He has been good but he seems to be stagnating. Obviously Mobley isnt an all star either yet. Garland is a pleasure to watch due to his ball handling and smooth shooting ability. But he is a below average defender, injury prone, and most of all he seems to shrink in crunch time. He is in year 4 so its not the end of the world but- we need him to ascend to top 5 point guard status for the Cavs to make some noise in the playoffs. A part of me thinks we still need another all star piece.

The league is so talented now. Being an allstar is a lot harder than it used to be. We have four guys on our team who, if having the season they are now, wouldve been allstar every year from like 2000-2017.

DG is doing fine. If he can level up again, ill take it but I'm not worried. Not like he's Jordan poole

X......5/10

Lamb 2/10 The weirdest movie I've watched in awhile.

Don't get Showtime Free Trial, Showtime Movie offerings sucks.

WRONG THREAD.......SORRY........Garland definitely doesn't suck as bad as those 2 movies above, lol.

Been shallow since the hand injury. Goes both ways though. It also keeps him chained to expectations.

I haven’t seen that garland from last year that would impact the game in various ways. At this point it is what it is love is a way bigger issue right now

Dude, he never popped up that much last year. Garland shooting 20-30 shots a game doesn't always work.
